“Therefore, whatever you want others to do for you, do also the same for them, for this is the Law and the Prophets.
“The kingdom of heaven is like treasure, buried in a field, that a man found and reburied. Then in his joy he goes and sells everything he has and buys that field.
“When he found one priceless[fn] pearl, he went and sold everything he had and bought it.
They begged him that they might only touch the end of his robe, and as many as touched it were healed.
“But I tell you: Elijah has already come, and they didn’t recognize him. On the contrary, they did whatever they pleased to him. In the same way the Son of Man is going to suffer at their hands.”
“Since he did not have the money to pay it back, his master commanded that he, his wife, his children, and everything he had be sold to pay the debt.
“Go then to where the roads exit the city and invite everyone you find to the banquet.’
“Therefore do whatever they tell you, and observe it. But don’t do what they do, because they don’t practice what they teach.
“And the King will answer them, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’

Jesus said to them, “The wedding guests cannot fast while the groom is with them, can they? As long as they have the groom with them, they cannot fast.
Jerusalem, Idumea, beyond the Jordan, and around Tyre and Sidon. The large crowd came to him because they heard about everything he was doing.
Since he had healed many, all who had diseases were pressing toward him to touch him.
“Truly I tell you, people will be forgiven for all sins and whatever blasphemies they utter.
Jesus did not let him but told him, “Go home to your own people, and report to them how much the Lord has done for you and how he has had mercy on you.”
So he went out and began to proclaim in the Decapolis how much Jesus had done for him, and they were all amazed.
The apostles gathered around Jesus and reported to him all that they had done and taught.
Wherever he went, into villages, towns, or the country, they laid the sick in the marketplaces and begged him that they might touch just the end of his robe. And everyone who touched it was healed.
He ordered them to tell no one, but the more he ordered them, the more they proclaimed it.
“But I tell you that Elijah has come, and they did whatever they pleased to him, just as it is written about him.”
Looking at him, Jesus loved him and said to him, “You lack one thing: Go, sell all you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come,[fn] follow me.”
“Therefore I tell you, everything you pray and ask for — believe that you have received[fn] it and it will be yours.
“For they all gave out of their surplus, but she out of her poverty has put in everything she had — all she had to live on.”
Then he said to them, “No doubt you will quote this proverb[fn] to me: ‘Doctor, heal yourself. What we’ve heard that took place in Capernaum, do here in your hometown also.’ ”
When the sun was setting, all those who had anyone sick with various diseases brought them to him. As he laid his hands on each one of them, he healed them.
“Go back to your home, and tell all that God has done for you.” And off he went, proclaiming throughout the town how much Jesus had done for him.
“If they do not welcome you, when you leave that town, shake off the dust from your feet as a testimony against them.”
When the apostles returned, they reported to Jesus all that they had done. He took them along and withdrew privately to a[fn] town called Bethsaida.
“I tell you, even though he won’t get up and give him anything because he is his friend, yet because of his friend’s shameless boldness,[fn] he will get up and give him as much as he needs.
“Therefore, whatever you have said in the dark will be heard in the light, and what you have whispered in an ear in private rooms will be proclaimed on the housetops.
When Jesus heard this, he told him, “You still lack one thing: Sell all you have and distribute it to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.”
But to all who did receive him, he gave them the right to be[fn] children of God, to those who believe in his name,
When they entered Galilee, the Galileans welcomed him because they had seen everything he did in Jerusalem during the festival. For they also had gone to the festival.
Then Jesus took the loaves, and after giving thanks he distributed them to those who were seated — so also with the fish, as much as they wanted.
“All who came before me[fn] are thieves and robbers, but the sheep didn’t listen to them.
Many came to him and said, “John never did a sign, but everything John said about this man was true.”
“When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth. For he will not speak on his own, but he will speak whatever he hears. He will also declare to you what is to come.
“Everything the Father has is mine. This is why I told you that he takes from what is mine and will declare it to you.
“For the promise is for you and for your children, and for all who are far off, as many as the Lord our God will call.”
“Moses said:[fn] The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among your brothers. You must listen to everything he tells you.
