Let another ^H2114 praise ^H1984 you, and not your own mouth ^H6310;

A stranger ^H5237, and not your own lips ^H8193.

A stone ^H68 is heavy ^H3514 and the sand ^H2344 weighty ^H5192,

But the provocation ^H3708 of a fool ^H191 is heavier ^H3515 than ^H4480 both ^H8147 of them.

Wrath ^H2534 is fierce ^H395 and anger ^H639 is a flood ^H7858,

But who ^H4310 can stand ^H5975 before ^H6440 jealousy ^H7068?

Better ^H2896 is open ^H1540 rebuke ^H8433

Than ^H4480 love ^H160 that is concealed ^H5641.

Faithful ^H539 are the wounds ^H6482 of a friend ^H157,

But [fn]deceitful ^H6280 are the kisses ^H5390 of an enemy ^H8130.

Nor ^H3808 are the eyes ^H5869 of a person ^H120 ever satisfied ^H7646.

The crucible ^H4715 is for silver ^H3701 and the furnace ^H3564 for gold ^H2091,

And each ^H376 is tested by the praise ^H4110 accorded ^H6310 him.

Though ^H518 you pound ^H3806 the fool ^H191 in a mortar ^H4388 with a pestle ^H5940 along ^H8432 with crushed ^H7383 grain ^H7383,

His foolishness ^H200 still will not leave ^H5493 H4480 him.
