Rest of the Land Divided

1 Then the whole ^H3605 congregation ^H5712 of the sons ^H1121 of Israel ^H3478 assembled ^H6950 at Shiloh ^H7887, and set ^H7931 up ^H7931 the tent ^H168 of meeting ^H4150 there ^H8033; and the land ^H776 was subdued ^H3533 before ^H6440 them.

2 But there remained ^H3498 among the sons ^H1121 of Israel ^H3478 seven ^H7651 tribes ^H7626 who ^H834 had not divided ^H2505 their inheritance ^H5159.

3 So Joshua ^H3091 said ^H559 to the sons ^H1121 of Israel ^H3478, “How ^H575 long ^H5704 will you [fn]put ^H7503 off ^H7503 entering ^H935 to take ^H3423 possession ^H3423 of the land ^H776 which ^H834 the LORD ^H3068, the God ^H430 of your fathers ^H1, has given ^H5414 you? 4 Provide ^H3051 for yourselves three ^H7969 men ^H376 from [fn]each tribe ^H7626 so that I may send ^H7971 them, and that they may arise ^H6965 and walk ^H1980 through the land ^H776 and write ^H3789 a description of it according ^H6310 to their inheritance ^H5159; then they shall [fn]return ^H935 to me. 5 And they shall divide ^H2505 it into seven ^H7651 portions ^H2506; Judah ^H3063 shall stay ^H5975 in its territory ^H1366 on the south ^H5045, and the house ^H1004 of Joseph ^H3130 shall stay ^H5975 in their territory ^H1366 on the north ^H6828. 6 And you shall write ^H3789 a description of the land ^H776 in seven ^H7651 divisions ^H2506, and bring ^H935 the description here ^H2008 to me. Then I will cast ^H3384 lots ^H1486 for you here ^H6311 before ^H6440 the LORD ^H3068 our God ^H430. 7 For the Levites ^H3881 have ^H369 no ^H369 portion ^H2506 among ^H7130 you, because ^H3588 the priesthood ^H3550 of the LORD ^H3068 is [fn]their inheritance ^H5159. Gad ^H1410, Reuben ^H7205, and the half-tribe ^H2677 H7626 of Manasseh ^H4519 also have received ^H3947 their inheritance ^H5159 eastward ^H4217 beyond ^H4480 H5676 the Jordan ^H3383, which ^H834 Moses ^H4872 the servant ^H5650 of the LORD ^H3068 gave ^H5414 them.”

8 Then the men ^H376 arose ^H6965 and went ^H1980, and Joshua ^H3091 commanded ^H6680 those who went ^H1980 to write ^H3789 a description of the land ^H776, saying ^H559, “Go ^H1980 and walk ^H1980 through the land ^H776 and write ^H3789 a description of it, and return ^H7725 to me; then I will cast ^H7993 lots ^H1486 for you here ^H6311 before ^H6440 the LORD ^H3068 in Shiloh ^H7887.” 9 So the men ^H376 went ^H1980 and passed ^H5674 through the land ^H776, and wrote ^H3789 a description of it by cities ^H5892 in seven ^H7651 divisions ^H2506 in a book ^H5612; and they came ^H935 to Joshua ^H3091 at the camp ^H4264 at Shiloh ^H7887. 10 Joshua ^H3091 then cast ^H7993 lots ^H1486 for them in Shiloh ^H7887 before ^H6440 the LORD ^H3068, and there ^H8033 Joshua ^H3091 divided ^H2505 the land ^H776 for the sons ^H1121 of Israel ^H3478 according to their divisions ^H4256.

The Territory of Benjamin

11 Now the lot ^H1486 of the tribe ^H4294 of the sons ^H1121 of Benjamin ^H1144 came ^H5927 up ^H5927 according to their families ^H4940, and the territory ^H1366 of their lot ^H1486 [fn]lay ^H3318 between ^H996 the sons ^H1121 of Judah ^H3063 and the sons ^H1121 of Joseph ^H3130.

12 Their border ^H1366 on the north ^H6828 side ^H6285 was from the Jordan ^H3383, then the border ^H1366 went ^H5927 up ^H5927 to the side ^H3802 of Jericho ^H3405 on the north ^H6828, and went ^H5927 up ^H5927 through the hill ^H2022 country ^H2022 westward ^H3220, and [fn]it ended ^H1961 H8444 at the wilderness ^H4057 of Beth-aven ^H1007. 13 Then from there ^H8033 the border ^H1366 continued ^H5674 to Luz ^H3870, to the side ^H3802 of Luz ^H3870 (that is, Bethel ^H1008) southward ^H5045; and the border ^H1366 went ^H3381 down ^H3381 to Ataroth-addar ^H5853, near ^H5921 the hill ^H2022 which ^H834 lies on the south ^H5045 of lower ^H8481 Beth-horon ^H1032. 14 And the border ^H1366 changed ^H8388 direction ^H8388 from there and turned ^H5437 around ^H5437 on the west ^H3220 side ^H6285 southward ^H5045, from the hill ^H2022 which ^H834 lies opposite ^H5921 H6440 Beth-horon ^H1032 southward ^H5045; and [fn]it ended ^H1961 H8444 at Kiriath-baal ^H7154 (that is, Kiriath-jearim ^H7157), a city ^H5892 of the sons ^H1121 of Judah ^H3063. This ^H2088 was the west ^H3220 side ^H6285. 15 Then the south ^H5045 side ^H6285 was from the edge ^H7097 of Kiriath-jearim ^H7157, and the border ^H1366 went ^H3318 westward ^H3220 and went ^H3318 to the fountain ^H4599 of the waters ^H4325 of Nephtoah ^H5318. 16 Then the border ^H1366 went ^H3381 down ^H3381 to the edge ^H7097 of the hill ^H2022 which ^H834 is [fn]in the Valley ^H1516 of Ben-hinnom ^H1121 H2011, which ^H834 is in the Valley ^H6010 of Rephaim ^H7497 northward ^H6828; and it went ^H3381 down ^H3381 to the Valley ^H1516 of Hinnom ^H2011, to the slope ^H3802 of the Jebusite ^H2983 southward ^H5045, and went ^H3381 down ^H3381 to En-rogel ^H5883. 17 Then it turned ^H8388 northward ^H6828 and went ^H3318 to En-shemesh ^H5885, and went ^H3318 to Geliloth ^H1553, which ^H834 is opposite ^H5227 the ascent ^H4608 of Adummim ^H131, and it went ^H3381 down ^H3381 to the stone ^H68 of Bohan ^H932 the son ^H1121 of Reuben ^H7205. 18 And it continued ^H5674 to the side ^H3802 in front ^H4136 of the Arabah ^H6160 northward ^H6828, and went ^H3381 down ^H3381 to the Arabah ^H6160. 19 Then the border ^H1366 continued ^H5674 to the side ^H3802 of Beth-hoglah ^H1031 northward ^H6828; and the [fn]border ^H1366 ended ^H1961 H8444 at the north ^H6828 bay ^H3956 of the Salt ^H4417 Sea ^H3220, at the south ^H5045 end ^H7097 of the Jordan ^H3383. This ^H2088 was the southern ^H5045 border ^H1366. 20 Moreover, the Jordan ^H3383 was its border ^H1379 on the east ^H6924 side ^H6285. This ^H2088 was the inheritance ^H5159 of the sons ^H1121 of Benjamin ^H1144 according to their families ^H4940, and according to its borders ^H1367 all ^H5439 around ^H5439.

21 Now the cities ^H5892 of the tribe ^H4294 of the sons ^H1121 of Benjamin ^H1144 according to their families ^H4940 were Jericho ^H3405, Beth-hoglah ^H1031, and Emek-keziz ^H6010 H7104, 22 Beth-arabah ^H1026, Zemaraim ^H6787, and Bethel ^H1008, 23 Avvim ^H5761, Parah ^H6511, and Ophrah ^H6084, 24 Chephar-ammoni ^H3726, Ophni ^H6078, and Geba ^H1387; twelve ^H8147 H6240 cities ^H5892 with their villages ^H2691. 25 Gibeon ^H1391, Ramah ^H7414, and Beeroth ^H881, 26 Mizpeh ^H4708, Chephirah ^H3716, and Mozah ^H4681, 27 Rekem ^H7552, Irpeel ^H3416, and Taralah ^H8634, 28 Zelah ^H6762, Haeleph ^H507, the Jebusite ^H2983 city (that is, Jerusalem ^H3389), Gibeah ^H1390, Kiriath ^H7157; fourteen ^H702 H6240 cities ^H5892 with their villages ^H2691. This ^H2088 is the inheritance ^H5159 of the sons ^H1121 of Benjamin ^H1144 according to their families ^H4940.
