Territory of Ephraim
1 Then the lot H1486 for the sons H1121 of Joseph H3130 went H3318 from the Jordan H3383 at Jericho H3405 to the waters H4325 of Jericho H3405 on the east H4217 into the wilderness H4057, going H5927 up H5927 from Jericho H3405 through the hill H2022 country H2022 to Bethel H1008.
2 It went H3318 from Bethel H1008 to Luz H3870, and continued H5674 to the border H1366 of the Archites H757 at Ataroth H5852. 3 Then it went H3381 down H3381 westward H3220 to the territory H1366 of the Japhletites H3311, as far H5704 as the territory H1366 of lower H8481 Beth-horon H1032 even to Gezer H1507, and [fn]it ended H1961 H8444 at the sea H3220.
4 The sons H1121 of Joseph H3130, Manasseh H4519 and Ephraim H669, received H5157 their inheritance H5157. 5 Now this was the territory H1366 of the sons H1121 of Ephraim H669 according to their families H4940: the border H1366 of their inheritance H5159 eastward H4217 was Ataroth-addar H5853, as far H5704 as upper H5945 Beth-horon H1032. 6 Then the border H1366 went H3318 westward H3220 at Michmethath H4366 on the north H6828, and the border H1366 turned H5437 eastward H4217 to Taanath-shiloh H8387 and continued H5674 beyond it to the east H4217 of Janoah H3239. 7 Then it went H3381 down H3381 from Janoah H3239 to Ataroth H5852 and to Naarah H5292, then reached H6293 Jericho H3405 and came H3318 out H3318 at the Jordan H3383. 8 From Tappuah H8599 the border H1366 continued H1980 westward H3220 to the [fn]brook H5158 of Kanah H7071, and [fn]it ended H1961 H8444 at the sea H3220. This H2088 is the inheritance H5159 of the tribe H4294 of the sons H1121 of Ephraim H669 according to their families H4940, 9 together with the cities H5892 which were set H3995 apart H3995 for the sons H1121 of Ephraim H669 in the midst H8432 of the inheritance H5159 of the sons H1121 of Manasseh H4519, all H3605 the cities H5892 with their villages H2691. 10 But they did not [fn]drive H3423 out H3423 the Canaanites H3669 who lived H3427 in Gezer H1507, so the Canaanites H3669 live H3427 in the midst H7130 of Ephraim H669 to this H2088 day H3117, and they became H1961 forced H4522 laborers H5647 H4522.
