“If ^H3588 there is famine ^H7458 in the land ^H776, if ^H3588 there is pestilence ^H1698, if ^H3588 there is scorching ^H7711 wind ^H7711 or mildew ^H3420, locust ^H697 or grasshopper ^H2625, if ^H3588 their enemy ^H340 besieges ^H6887 them in the land ^H776 of their [fn]cities ^H8179, whatever ^H3605 plague ^H5061, whatever ^H3605 sickness ^H4245 there is,

So Yahweh ^H3068 [fn]sent ^H5414 a pestilence ^H1698 against Israel ^H3478; and 70,000 ^H7657 H505 men ^H376 of Israel ^H3478 fell ^H5307.

“If ^H3588 there is famine ^H7458 in the land ^H776, if ^H3588 there is pestilence ^H1698, if ^H3588 there is scorching ^H7711 wind ^H7711 or mildew ^H3420, if ^H3588 there is locust ^H697 or grasshopper ^H2625, if ^H3588 their enemies ^H340 besiege ^H6887 them in the land ^H776 of their [fn]cities ^H8179, whatever ^H3605 plague ^H5061 or whatever ^H3605 sickness ^H4245 there is,

He leveled ^H6424 a path ^H5410 for His anger ^H639;

He did not hold ^H2820 back ^H2820 their soul ^H5315 from death ^H4194,

But gave ^H5462 over ^H5462 their life ^H2416 to the plague ^H1698,

For it is He who delivers ^H5337 you from the snare ^H6341 of the trapper ^H3353

And from the destructive ^H1942 pestilence ^H1698.

Of pestilence ^H1698 that moves ^H1980 in darkness ^H652,

Or of destruction ^H6986 that devastates ^H7703 at noon ^H6672.

“So now ^H6258, therefore ^H3651 thus ^H3541 says ^H559 Yahweh ^H3068, the God ^H430 of Israel ^H3478, concerning ^H413 this ^H2088 city ^H5892 of which ^H834 you are saying ^H559, ‘It is given ^H5414 into the hand ^H3027 of the king ^H4428 of Babylon ^H894 by sword ^H2719, by famine ^H7458, and by pestilence ^H1698.’

“Therefore ^H3651 thus ^H3541 says ^H559 Yahweh ^H3068, ‘You have not obeyed ^H8085 Me in proclaiming ^H7121 [fn]release ^H1865 each ^H376 man ^H376 to his brother ^H251 and each ^H376 man ^H376 to his neighbor ^H7453. Behold ^H2009, I am proclaiming ^H7121 a [fn]release ^H1865 to you,’ declares ^H5002 Yahweh ^H3068, ‘to the sword ^H2719, to the pestilence ^H1698, and to the famine ^H7458; and I will make ^H5414 you a terror ^H2113 to all ^H3605 the kingdoms ^H4467 of the earth ^H776.

“Thus ^H3541 says ^H559 Lord ^H136 Yahweh ^H3068, ‘Strike ^H5221 your hands ^H3709 together, stamp ^H7554 your foot ^H7272 and say ^H559, “Alas ^H253, because ^H413 of all ^H3605 the evil ^H7451 abominations ^H8441 of the house ^H1004 of Israel ^H3478, which ^H834 will fall ^H5307 by the sword ^H2719, by the famine ^H7458, and by the plague ^H1698!

For thus ^H3541 says ^H559 Lord ^H136 Yahweh ^H3068, “How ^H637 much ^H637 more ^H637 H3588 when ^H3588 I send ^H7971 My four ^H702 calamitous ^H7451 judgments ^H8201 against ^H413 Jerusalem ^H3389: sword ^H2719, famine ^H7458, wild ^H7451 beasts ^H2416, and plague ^H1698 to cut ^H3772 off ^H3772 man ^H120 and beast ^H929 from it!

“For I will send ^H7971 pestilence ^H1698 to her

And blood ^H1818 to her streets ^H2351,

And the wounded ^H2491 will [fn]fall ^H5307 in her midst ^H8432

By the sword ^H2719 upon her on every ^H5439 side ^H5439;

Then they will know ^H3045 that I am Yahweh ^H3068.

Shall I ransom ^H6299 them from the [fn]power ^H3027 of Sheol ^H7585?

Shall I redeem ^H1350 them from death ^H4194?

O Death ^H4194, where ^H165 are your thorns ^H1698?

O Sheol ^H7585, where ^H165 is your sting ^H6986?

Compassion ^H5164 will be hidden ^H5641 from My sight ^H5869.

“I sent ^H7971 a pestilence ^H1698 among you after the manner ^H1870 of Egypt ^H4714;

I killed ^H2026 your choice ^H970 men ^H970 by the sword ^H2719 along ^H5973 with ^H5973 your captured ^H7628 horses ^H5483,

And I made the stench ^H889 of your camp ^H4264 rise ^H5927 up ^H5927 even in your nostrils ^H639;

Yet you have not returned ^H7725 to Me,” declares ^H5002 Yahweh ^H3068.

Before ^H6440 Him goes ^H1980 pestilence ^H1698,

And plague ^H7565 comes ^H3318 [fn]after ^H7272 Him.
