“Behold ^H2009, I have put ^H5414 My words ^H1697 in your mouth ^H6310.

Now the word ^H1697 of Yahweh ^H3068 came ^H1961 to me saying ^H559, “What ^H4100 do you see ^H7200, Jeremiah ^H3414?” And I said ^H559, “I see ^H7200 a rod ^H4731 of an [fn]almond ^H8247 tree ^H8247.”

Now the word ^H1697 of Yahweh ^H3068 came ^H1961 to me saying ^H559,

Hear ^H8085 the word ^H1697 of Yahweh ^H3068, O house ^H1004 of Jacob ^H3290 and all ^H3605 the families ^H4940 of the house ^H1004 of Israel ^H3478.

“O generation ^H1755, [fn]behold ^H7200 the word ^H1697 of Yahweh ^H3068.

Have I been ^H1961 a wilderness ^H4057 to Israel ^H3478

Or ^H518 a land ^H776 of thick ^H3991 darkness ^H3991?

Why ^H4069 do My people ^H5971 say ^H559, ‘We are free to roam ^H7300;

We will no ^H3808 longer ^H5750 come ^H935 to You’?

‘[fn]Return ^H7725, faithless ^H4878 Israel ^H3478,’ declares ^H5002 Yahweh ^H3068;

‘I will not [fn]look ^H5307 upon you in ^H5307 anger ^H5307.

For I am One ^H2623 of ^H2623 lovingkindness ^H2623,’ declares ^H5002 Yahweh ^H3068;

‘I will not be ^H5201 angry ^H5201 forever ^H5769.

Therefore ^H3651, thus ^H3541 says ^H559 Yahweh ^H3068, the God ^H430 of hosts ^H6635,

“Because ^H3282 you have spoken ^H1696 this ^H2088 word ^H1697,

Behold ^H2009, I am making ^H5414 My words ^H1697 in your mouth ^H6310 fire ^H784

And this ^H2088 people ^H5971 wood ^H6086, and it will devour ^H398 them.

‘They are ^H8080 fat ^H8080, they are sleek ^H6245;

They also ^H1571 [fn]excel ^H5674 in deeds ^H1697 of evil ^H7451;

They do not plead ^H1777 the cause ^H1779,

The cause ^H1779 of the [fn]orphan ^H3490, that they may succeed ^H6743;

And they do not [fn]render ^H8199 justice ^H4941 for the poor ^H34.

To whom ^H4310 shall I speak ^H1696 and give ^H5749 warning ^H5749

That they may hear ^H8085?

Behold ^H2009, their ears ^H241 are uncircumcised ^H6189,

Behold ^H2009, the word ^H1697 of Yahweh ^H3068 has become ^H1961 a reproach ^H2781 to them;

They have ^H2654 no ^H3808 delight ^H2654 in it.

“Hear ^H8085, O earth ^H776: behold ^H2009, I am bringing ^H935 evil ^H7451 on this ^H2088 people ^H5971,

“Behold ^H2009, you are trusting ^H982 in lying ^H8267 words ^H1697 to no ^H1115 avail ^H3276.

“You shall speak ^H1696 all ^H3605 these ^H428 words ^H1697 to them, but they will not listen ^H8085 to you; and you shall call ^H7121 to them, but they will not answer ^H6030 you.

“The wise ^H2450 men ^H2450 are put ^H954 to ^H954 shame ^H954;

They are dismayed ^H2865 and captured ^H3920;

Behold ^H2009, they have rejected ^H3988 the word ^H1697 of Yahweh ^H3068,

And what ^H4100 kind of wisdom ^H2451 do they have?

Indeed ^H3588, hear ^H8085 the word ^H1697 of Yahweh ^H3068, O you women ^H802,

And let your ear ^H241 receive ^H3947 the word ^H1697 of His mouth ^H6310;

Teach ^H3925 your daughters ^H1323 wailing ^H5092,

And everyone ^H802 her neighbor ^H7468 a funeral lamentation ^H7015.

Hear ^H8085 the word ^H1697 which ^H834 Yahweh ^H3068 speaks ^H1696 to you, O house ^H1004 of Israel ^H3478.

The word ^H1697 which ^H834 came ^H1961 to Jeremiah ^H3414 from Yahweh ^H3068, saying ^H559,

And Yahweh ^H3068 said ^H559 to me, “Call ^H7121 out ^H7121 all ^H3605 these ^H428 words ^H1697 in the cities ^H5892 of Judah ^H3063 and in the streets ^H2351 of Jerusalem ^H3389, saying ^H559, ‘Hear ^H8085 the words ^H1697 of this ^H2088 covenant ^H1285 so that you will do ^H6213 them.

Then the word ^H1697 of Yahweh ^H3068 came ^H1961 to me, saying ^H559,

“Therefore you are to say ^H559 this ^H2088 word ^H1697 to them, ‘Thus ^H3541 says ^H559 Yahweh ^H3068, the God ^H430 of Israel ^H3478, “Every ^H3605 jug ^H5035 is to be filled ^H4390 with wine ^H3196.”’ And they will say ^H559 to you, ‘Do we not very ^H3045 well ^H3045 know ^H3045 that every ^H3605 jug ^H5035 is to be filled ^H4390 with wine ^H3196?’

That which ^H834 came ^H1961 as the word ^H1697 of Yahweh ^H3068 to Jeremiah ^H3414 in regard ^H5921 H1697 to the drought ^H1226:

“And you will say ^H559 this ^H2088 word ^H1697 to them,

‘Let my eyes ^H5869 flow ^H3381 down ^H3381 with tears ^H1832 night ^H3915 and day ^H3119,

And let them not cease ^H1820,

For the virgin ^H1330 daughter ^H1323 of my people ^H5971 has been shattered ^H7665 with a mighty ^H1419 shattering ^H4347,

With a sorely ^H3966 sick ^H2470 wound ^H4347.

Your words ^H1697 were found ^H4672, and I ate ^H398 them,

And Your words ^H1697 became ^H1961 for me joy ^H8342 and gladness ^H8057 in my heart ^H3824,

For I have been called ^H7121 by Your name ^H8034,

O Yahweh ^H3068 God ^H430 of hosts ^H6635.

The word ^H1697 of Yahweh ^H3068 also came ^H1961 to me saying ^H559,

“Now when ^H3588 you tell ^H5046 this ^H2088 people ^H5971 all ^H3605 these ^H428 words ^H1697, they will say ^H559 to you, ‘For ^H5921 what ^H4100 reason ^H5921 H4100 has Yahweh ^H3068 declared ^H1696 all ^H3605 this ^H2088 great ^H1419 calamity ^H7451 against ^H5921 us? And what ^H4100 is our iniquity ^H5771, or what ^H4100 is our sin ^H2403 which ^H834 we have committed ^H2398 against Yahweh ^H3068 our God ^H430?’

Behold ^H2009, they keep saying ^H559 to me,

“Where ^H346 is the word ^H1697 of Yahweh ^H3068?

Let it come ^H935 now ^H4994!”

The word ^H1697 which ^H834 came ^H1961 to Jeremiah ^H3414 from Yahweh ^H3068 saying ^H559,

Then the word ^H1697 of Yahweh ^H3068 came ^H1961 to me saying ^H559,

Then they said ^H559, “Come ^H1980 and let us devise ^H2803 plans ^H4284 against ^H5921 Jeremiah ^H3414. Surely ^H3588 the law ^H8451 is not going to perish ^H6 from the priest ^H3548, nor ^H3808 counsel ^H6098 to the wise ^H2450 man, nor ^H3808 the divine word ^H1697 to the prophet ^H5030! Come ^H1980 on and let us strike ^H5221 at him with our tongue ^H3956, and let us give ^H7181 no ^H408 heed ^H7181 to any ^H3605 of his words ^H1697.”
