Strong’s Definitions [?](Strong’s Definitions Legend)
ἀπαλλάσσω apallássō, ap-al-las'-so; from G575 and G236; to change away, i.e. release, (reflexively) remove:—deliver, depart.
STRONGS G525:
ἀπαλλάσσω: 1 aorist ἀπήλλαξα; passive [present ἀπαλλάσσομαι]; perfect infinitive ἀπηλλάχθαι; (ἀλλάσσω to change; ἀπό, namely, τινός); common in Greek writings; to remove, release; passive to be removed, to depart: ἀπ’ αὐτῶν τὰς νόσους, Acts 19:12 (Plato, Eryx. 401 c. εἰ αἱ νόσοι ἀπαλλαγείησαν ἐκ τῶν σωμάτων); in a transferred and especially in a legal sense, ἀπό with the genitive of person, to be set free, the opponent being appeased and withdrawing the suit, to be quit of one: Luke 12:58 (so with a simple genitive of person Xenophon, mem. 2, 9, 6). Hence, universally, to set free, deliver: τινά, Hebrews 2:15; (in secular authors the genitive of the thing freed from is often added; cf. Bleek on Heb. vol. ii. 1, p. 339f).
