“Don’t continue to supply the people with straw for making bricks, as before. They must go and gather straw for themselves.
So the overseers and foremen of the people went out and said to them, “This is what Pharaoh says: ‘I am not giving you straw.
“Make an appeal to the LORD. There has been enough of God’s thunder and hail. I will let you go; you don’t need to stay any longer.”
“Then there will be a great cry of anguish through all the land of Egypt such as never was before or ever will be again.
“But if he does not redeem the field or if he has sold it to another man, it is no longer redeemable.

Isn’t it true that in just a little while

The Lord will give you meager bread and water during oppression, but your Teacher[fn] will not hide any longer. Your eyes will see your Teacher,
Then the eyes of those who see will not be closed,
and the ears of those who hear will listen.
In a little more than a year
you overconfident ones will shudder,
for the grapes will fail
and the harvest will not come.
I said: I will never see the LORD,
the LORD in the land of the living;
I will not look on humanity any longer

“Go down and sit in the dust,
Virgin Daughter Babylon.
Sit on the ground without a throne,

This is the LORD’s declaration.

The LORD’s anger will not turn away
until he has completely fulfilled the purposes of his heart.
In time to come you will understand it clearly.
“The whole valley — the corpses, the ashes, and all the fields as far as the Kidron Valley to the corner of the Horse Gate to the east — will be holy to the LORD. It will never be uprooted or demolished again.”
“For this is what the LORD of Armies, the God of Israel, says: ‘Just as my anger and fury were poured out on Jerusalem’s residents, so will my fury pour out on you if you go to Egypt. You will become an example for cursing, scorn, execration, and disgrace, and you will never see this place again.’
Therefore, desert creatures[fn] will live with hyenas,
and ostriches will also live in her.
It will never again be inhabited
or lived in through all generations.
The seller will certainly not return
to what was sold
as long as he and the buyer remain alive.[fn]
For the vision concerning her whole crowd
will not be revoked,
and because of the iniquity of each one,
none will preserve his life.
“Therefore say to them, ‘This is what the Lord GOD says: I will put a stop to this proverb, and they will not use it again in Israel.’ But say to them, ‘The days have arrived, as well as the fulfillment of every vision.
