“And no one puts new wine into old wineskins. Otherwise, the wine will burst the skins, and the wine is lost as well as the skins. No, new wine is put into fresh wineskins.”

They tried to give him wine mixed with myrrh, but he did not take it.

The kings of the earth

and the merchants of the earth

have grown wealthy from her sensuality and excess.

cinnamon, spice,[fn] incense, myrrh,[fn] and frankincense; wine, olive oil, fine flour, and grain; cattle and sheep; horses and carriages; and slaves ​— ​human lives.

A sharp[fn] sword came from his mouth, so that he might strike the nations with it. He will rule[fn] them with an iron rod. He will also trample the winepress of the fierce anger of God, the Almighty.
