Then Jesus told him, “See that you don’t tell anyone; but go, show yourself to the priest, and offer the gift that Moses commanded, as a testimony to them.”
And their eyes were opened. Then Jesus warned them sternly, “Be sure that no one finds out.”
As they were coming down the mountain, Jesus commanded them, “Don’t tell anyone about the vision until the Son of Man is raised[fn] from the dead.”
While he was sitting on the judge’s bench, his wife sent word to him, “Have nothing to do with that righteous man, for today I’ve suffered terribly in a dream because of him.”

“But love your enemies, do what is good, and lend, expecting nothing in return. Then your reward will be great, and you will be children of the Most High. For he is gracious to the ungrateful and evil.
“Take nothing for the road,” he told them, “no staff, no traveling bag, no bread, no money; and don’t take an extra shirt.
“Don’t carry a money-bag, traveling bag, or sandals; don’t greet anyone along the road.
“But so that this does not spread any further among the people, let’s threaten them against speaking to anyone in this name again.”
After threatening them further, they released them. They found no way to punish them because the people were all giving glory to God over what had been done.
“Pray to the Lord for me,” Simon replied, “so that nothing you have said may happen to me.”
The men who were traveling with him stood speechless, hearing the sound but seeing no one.
“Get up, go downstairs, and go with them with no doubts at all, because I have sent them.”
Peter said to them, “You know it’s forbidden for a Jewish man to associate with or visit a foreigner, but God has shown me that I must not call any person impure or unclean.
“The Spirit told me to accompany them with no doubts at all. These six brothers also accompanied me, and we went into the man’s house.
Now those who had been scattered as a result of the persecution that started because of Stephen made their way as far as Phoenicia, Cyprus, and Antioch, speaking the word to no one except Jews.
“Though they found no grounds for the death sentence, they asked Pilate to have him killed.
“For it was the Holy Spirit’s decision — and ours — not to place further burdens on you beyond these requirements:
But Paul called out in a loud voice, “Don’t harm yourself, because we’re all here! ”
“Therefore, since these things are undeniable, you must keep calm and not do anything rash.
“In fact, we run a risk of being charged with rioting for what happened today, since there is no justification that we can give as a reason for this disturbance.”
These men went to the chief priests and elders and said, “We have bound ourselves under a solemn curse that we won’t eat anything until we have killed Paul.
So the commander dismissed the young man and instructed him, “Don’t tell anyone that you have informed me about this.”
I found out that the accusations were concerning questions of their law, and that there was no charge that merited death or imprisonment.
He ordered that the centurion keep Paul under guard, though he could have some freedom, and that he should not prevent any of his friends from meeting[fn] his needs.
“So when they had assembled here, I did not delay. The next day I took my seat at the tribunal and ordered the man to be brought in.

When it was about daylight, Paul urged them all to take food, saying, “Today is the fourteenth day that you have been waiting and going without food, having eaten nothing.
They expected that he would begin to swell up or suddenly drop dead. After they waited a long time and saw nothing unusual happen to him, they changed their minds and said he was a god.
“After they examined me, they wanted to release me, since there was no reason for the death penalty in my case.
Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Give careful thought to do what is honorable in everyone’s eyes.
Do not owe anyone anything, except to love one another, for the one who loves another has fulfilled the law.
so that you do not lack any spiritual gift as you eagerly wait for the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Let no one deceive himself. If anyone among you thinks he is wise in this age, let him become a fool so that he can become wise.
