Untersuch. p. 24; [Liddell and Scott under the word at the end; Winer's Grammar 52]), , -ον, equal, in quality or in quantity: ἡ ἴση δωρεά, the same gift, Acts 11:17; ἴσαι μαρτυρίαι, agreeing testimonies, Mark 14:56, 59; ἴσον ποιεῖν τινά τινι, to make one equal to another, in the payment of wages, Matthew 20:12; ἑαυτὸν τῷ θεῷ, to claim for one's self the nature, rank, authority, which belong to God, John 5:18; τὰ ἴσα ἀπολαβεῖν, Luke 6:34. The neuters ἴσον and ἴσα are often used adverbially from Homer down (cf.
