Blue Letter Bible has been blessed by God with a wonderful partnership with Kress Biblical Resources for the last few years. They have generously provided us with several free resources on our website and apps. Now, we are excited to announce the most recent addition from Kress: A Concise Outline Introduction to the Bible.
This resource offers succinct, broad outlines of every book of the Bible to enrich our users' understanding of the whole of Scripture. The work begins with the overall theme of the Bible before proceeding to focus on how the themes of the Old and New Testaments are related. Kress then compares these to the individual themes and overall structure of each book. Thus, the reader is able to gain a deep appreciation of Scripture's interconnectedness and how seamlessly it fits together.
We want to thank Kress Biblical Resources for their sweet partnership with our ministry. Their provision of Bible outlines to our website and apps is a huge blessing to both us and our users. If you would like to browse their print catalog, you can visit their website or online store.
New! Free NIV App Download and Audio Bible
We have been blessed by our partners at Biblica with the opportunity to provide the New International Version (NIV) as a free download on our Apple and Android apps. The NIV has been one of the most popular versions on our website since its addition over a decade ago, and we are blessed to now offer it as a mobile app download.
Along with the NIV download, Biblica has generously provided the NIV audio Bible narrated by Max McLean. McLean has been a major figure in the Christian performing arts scene, founding the Fellowship of Performing Arts back in 1992. Since then, he has been featured as the voice in several narrated audio Bibles. It is a blessing to feature this diligent servant of God on our site.
To access your free download, you can download our mobile app on either the App Store or Google Play Store.

Inline Interlinear Custom Colors and Themes Now Available!
Our inline interlinear was released a few years ago and has become one of our most popular language tools. As a quick refresher, Blue Letter Bible has always had these language tools, but our team wanted to make it more accessible. And so, they began working on a horizontal variant of the interlinear which came to be known as the "inline interlinear." It contains the same information as the standard interlinear, but the English reads horizontally and can be viewed as a complete chapter. And now, you can customize how that information is displayed.
From an inline interlinear page, you can select the "Colors" button to open a menu that gives you access to five themes. The first four are presets, but the fifth "Custom" tab allows you to select whatever colors you would like for the ten parts of speech. There are two colors: Fill and Text. Fill will select the color of the parsing code's background while Text changes the font color. You can type in a specific six-character hex code or click on the colored circle to use a color wheel.
Any changes you make to your colors in the inline interlinear will also carry over to the standard interlinear, showing your selected colors for the parsing. As an additional feature, these colors also carry over into Hebrew parsing information. If you hover over the inflected form of a Hebrew word, it will highlight both that form and its corresponding code in the selected parsing color.
We have been so blessed by our skilled team of developers that have worked diligently on maximizing the potential of the tools that we have. If you want to start using the inline interlinear today, you can start by heading over to
The Treasury of Scripture Knowledge (TSK), found in the "Cross-Refs" tab of our Tools button, is one of the most powerful cross-referencing tools that BLB offers. While English cross-references connect English words that match and Strong's cross-references connect original language words that match, the TSK identifies biblical and theological topics from the passage, showing other places in Scripture where those same topics exist.
The original formatting followed the published TSK, which generally highlighted only the first word or two of a referenced phrase. Sometimes, it was difficult to know how much of the phrase was related to the cross-references. Our development team worked hard to improve the tool by highlighting the entire portion of the phrase to the cross-reference results below it. Here is
As you can see, the original Cross-Refs tool only had one or two words in red. This means that the cross-references related to those words. However, the cross-referenced verses actually relate to entire phrases, as seen in the "After" screenshot. With that in mind, we have updated over 66,000 TSK entries on our site and mobile apps to display the content that is being cross-referenced more accurately. We pray that the time we have spent with this powerful tool makes it easier to use and enhances your time in God's Word.

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Of the increase of [his] government and peace [there shall be] no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this. (Isaiah 9:6-7)
