Mattathah:
(gift of Jehovah) probably a contraction of Mattathiah.
(1.) Son of Nathan and grandson of David, in the genealogy of Christ (Luke 3:31). (B.C. after 1014)
(2.) An Israelite, son of Hashun, who divorced his Gentile wife after the return from Babylon (Ezra 10:33). (B.C. 458)
The Blue Letter Bible ministry and the BLB Institute hold to the historical, conservative Christian faith, which includes a firm belief in the inerrancy of Scripture. Since the text and audio content provided by BLB represent a range of evangelical traditions, all of the ideas and principles conveyed in the resource materials are not necessarily affirmed, in total, by this ministry.
