PSALM 75
God Humbles the Proud, but Exalts the Righteous.
For the music director; set to [fn]Al-tashheth. A Psalm of Asaph, a Song.
1 We give H3034 thanks H3034 to You, God H430, we give H3034 thanks H3034,
For Your name H8034 is near H7138;
People declare H5608 Your wondrous H6381 works H6381.
2 “When H3588 I select H3947 an appointed H4150 time H4150,
It is I who judge H8199 fairly H4339.
3 “The earth H776 and all H3605 who inhabit H3427 it [fn]are H4127 unsteady H4127;
It is I who have firmly H8505 set H8505 its pillars H5982. Selah H5542
4 “I said H559 to the boastful H1984, ‘Do not boast H1984,’
And to the wicked H7563, ‘Do not lift H7311 up H7311 the horn H7161;
5 Do not lift H7311 up H7311 your horn H7161 on high H4791,
Do not speak H1696 with insolent H6277 [fn]pride H6677.’”
6 For not from the east H4161, nor H3808 from the west H4628,
Nor H3808 from the [fn]desert H4057 comes exaltation H7311;
7 But God H430 is the Judge H8199;
He puts H8213 down H8213 one H2088 and exalts H7311 another H2088.
8 For a cup H3563 is in the hand H3027 of the LORD H3068, and the wine H3196 foams H2560;
It is [fn]well H4392 mixed H4538, and He pours H5064 out H5064 of this H2088;
Certainly H389 all H3605 the wicked H7563 of the earth H776 must drain H4680 and drink H8354 its dregs H8105.
9 But as for me, I will declare H5046 it forever H5769;
I will sing H2167 praises H2167 to the God H430 of Jacob H3290.
10 And [fn]He will cut H1438 off H1438 all H3605 the horns H7161 of the wicked H7563,
But the horns H7161 of the righteous H6662 will be lifted H7311 up H7311.
