PSALM 139

God’s Omnipresence and Omniscience.

For the music director. A Psalm of David.

1 LORD ^H3068, You have searched ^H2713 me and known ^H3045 me.

2 You know ^H3045 [fn]when I sit ^H3427 down ^H3427 and [fn]when I get ^H6965 up ^H6965;

You understand ^H995 my thought ^H7454 from far ^H7350 away ^H7350.

3 You [fn]scrutinize ^H2219 my [fn]path ^H734 and my lying ^H7250 down ^H7250,

And are ^H5532 acquainted ^H5532 with ^H5532 all ^H3605 my ways ^H1870.

4 [fn]Even before ^H369 there ^H369 is ^H369 a word ^H4405 on my tongue ^H3956,

Behold ^H2005, LORD ^H3068, You know ^H3045 it all ^H3605.

5 You have encircled ^H6696 me behind ^H268 and in front ^H6924,

And placed ^H7896 Your hand ^H3709 upon me.

6 Such knowledge ^H1847 is too ^H4480 wonderful ^H6383 for me;

It is ^H7682 too high ^H7682, I cannot ^H3201 H3808 comprehend ^H3201 it.

7 Where ^H575 can I go ^H1980 from Your Spirit ^H7307?

Or where ^H575 can I flee ^H1272 from Your presence ^H6440?

8 If ^H518 I ascend ^H5559 to heaven ^H8064, You are there ^H8033;

If I make ^H3331 my bed ^H3331 in [fn]Sheol ^H7585, behold ^H2009, You are there.

9 If I take ^H5375 up ^H5375 the wings ^H3671 of the dawn ^H7837,

If I dwell ^H7931 in the remotest ^H319 part ^H319 of the sea ^H3220,

10 Even ^H1571 there ^H8033 Your hand ^H3027 will lead ^H5148 me,

And Your right ^H3225 hand ^H3225 will take ^H270 hold ^H270 of me.

11 If I say ^H559, “Surely ^H389 the darkness ^H2822 will [fn]overwhelm ^H7779 me,

And the light ^H216 around ^H1157 me will be night ^H3915,”

12 Even ^H1571 darkness ^H2822 is ^H2821 not dark ^H2821 [fn]to You,

And the night ^H3915 is ^H215 as bright ^H215 as the day ^H3117.

Darkness ^H2825 and light ^H219 are alike to You.

13 For You created ^H7069 my innermost ^H3629 parts ^H3629;

You wove ^H5526 me in my mother’s ^H517 womb ^H990.

14 I will give ^H3034 thanks ^H3034 to You, because ^H5921 H3588 [fn]I am awesomely ^H3372 and wonderfully ^H6381 made;

Wonderful ^H6381 are Your works ^H4639,

And my soul ^H5315 knows ^H3045 it very ^H3966 well ^H3966.

15 My [fn]frame ^H6108 was not hidden ^H3582 from You

When ^H834 I was made ^H6213 in secret ^H5643,

And skillfully ^H7551 formed ^H7551 in the depths ^H8482 of the earth ^H776;

16 Your eyes ^H5869 have seen ^H7200 my formless ^H1564 substance ^H1564;

And in Your book ^H5612 were written ^H3789

All ^H3605 the days ^H3117 that were ordained ^H3335 for me,

When as yet there was not one ^H259 of them.

17 How ^H4100 precious ^H3365 also are ^H3365 Your thoughts ^H7454 for me, God ^H410!

How ^H4100 vast ^H6105 is ^H6105 the sum ^H7218 of them!

18 Were I to count ^H5608 them, they would outnumber ^H7235 the sand ^H2344.

When I awake ^H6974, I am still ^H5750 with You.

19 If ^H518 only ^H518 You would put ^H6991 the wicked ^H7563 to ^H6991 death ^H6991, God ^H433;

Leave ^H5493 me, you men ^H376 of bloodshed ^H1818.

20 For they speak ^H559 [fn]against You wickedly ^H4209,

And Your enemies ^H6145 [fn]take ^H5375 Your name in vain ^H7723.

21 Do I not hate ^H8130 those who hate ^H8130 You, LORD ^H3068?

And do I not loathe ^H6962 those who rise ^H6965 up ^H6965 against You?

22 I hate ^H8130 them with the utmost ^H8503 hatred ^H8135;

They have become ^H1961 my enemies ^H340.

23 Search ^H2713 me, God ^H410, and know ^H3045 my heart ^H3824;

Put ^H974 me to ^H974 the ^H974 test ^H974 and know ^H3045 my anxious ^H8312 thoughts ^H8312;

24 And see ^H7200 if ^H518 there is any [fn]hurtful ^H6090 way ^H1870 in me,

And lead ^H5148 me in the everlasting ^H5769 way ^H1870.
