Job Feels Insulted

1 Then Job ^H347 responded ^H6030 H559,

2 “How ^H575 long ^H5704 will you torment ^H3013 [fn]me

And crush ^H1792 me with words ^H4405?

3 “These ^H2088 ten ^H6235 times ^H6471 you have insulted ^H3637 me;

You are ^H954 not ashamed ^H954 to wrong ^H1970 me.

4 “Even ^H637 if I have truly ^H551 done ^H7686 wrong ^H7686,

My error ^H4879 stays ^H3885 with me.

5 “If ^H518 indeed ^H551 you exalt ^H1431 yourselves against ^H5921 me

And prove ^H3198 my disgrace ^H2781 to me,

6 Know ^H3045 then ^H645 that God ^H433 has wronged ^H5791 me

And has surrounded ^H5362 me with His net ^H4685.

Everything Is Against Him

7 “Behold ^H2005, I cry ^H6817, ‘Violence ^H2555!’ but I get ^H6030 no ^H3808 answer ^H6030;

I shout ^H7768 for ^H7768 help ^H7768, but there ^H369 is ^H369 no ^H369 justice ^H4941.

8 “He has blocked ^H1443 my way ^H734 so that I cannot ^H3808 pass ^H5674,

And He has put ^H7760 darkness ^H2822 on my paths ^H5410.

9 “He has stripped ^H6584 my honor ^H3519 from me

And removed ^H5493 the crown ^H5850 from my head ^H7218.

10 “He breaks ^H5422 me down ^H5422 on every ^H5439 side ^H5439, and I am gone ^H1980;

And He has uprooted ^H5265 my hope ^H8615 like a tree ^H6086.

11 “He has also kindled ^H2734 His anger ^H639 against ^H5921 me

And considered ^H2803 me as His enemy ^H6862.

12 “His troops ^H1416 come ^H935 together ^H3162

And build ^H5549 up ^H5549 their [fn]way ^H1870 against ^H5921 me

And camp ^H2583 around ^H5439 my tent ^H168.

13 “He has removed ^H7368 my brothers ^H251 far ^H7368 from me,

And I have escaped ^H4422 only by the skin ^H5785 of my teeth ^H8127.

21 “Pity ^H2603 me, pity ^H2603 me, you friends ^H7453 of mine,

For the hand ^H3027 of God ^H433 has struck ^H5221 me.

22 “Why ^H4100 do you persecute ^H7291 me as God ^H410 does,

And are ^H7646 not satisfied ^H7646 with my flesh ^H1320?

Job Says My Redeemer Lives

23 “Oh ^H4310 H5414 that ^H4310 H5414 my words ^H4405 were written ^H3789!

Oh ^H4310 H5414 that ^H4310 H5414 they were recorded ^H2710 in a book ^H5612!

24 “That with an iron ^H1270 stylus ^H5842 and lead ^H5777

They were engraved ^H2672 in the rock ^H6697 forever ^H5703!

25 “Yet as for me, I know ^H3045 that my Redeemer ^H1350 lives ^H2416,

And at the last ^H314, He will take ^H6965 His stand ^H6965 on the [fn]earth ^H6083.

26 “Even after ^H310 my skin ^H5785 [fn]is destroyed ^H5362,

Yet from my flesh ^H1320 I will see ^H2372 God ^H433,

27 Whom ^H834 I, on my part ^H589, shall behold ^H2372 for myself,

And whom my eyes ^H5869 will see ^H7200, and not another ^H2114.

My [fn]heart ^H3629 faints ^H3615 [fn]within ^H2436 me!

28 “If ^H3588 you say ^H559, ‘How ^H4100 shall we persecute ^H7291 him?’

And ‘[fn]What pretext ^H8328 for a case ^H1697 against him can we find ^H4672?’

29 “Then be afraid ^H1481 of the sword ^H2719 for yourselves,

For wrath ^H2534 brings the punishment ^H5771 of the sword ^H2719,

So ^H4616 that ^H4616 you may know ^H3045 there is judgment ^H1779.”
