“If H3588 you happen H7122 to H7122 come H7122 upon a bird’s H6833 nest H7064 along the way H1870, in any H3605 tree H6086 or H176 on the ground H776, with young H667 ones H667 or H176 eggs H1000 in it, and the mother H517 sitting H7257 on the young H667 or H176 on the eggs H1000, you shall not take H3947 the mother H517 with the young H1121; 7 you shall certainly H7971 let H7971 the mother H517 go H7971, but the young H1121 you may take H3947 for yourself, in H4616 order H4616 that H4616 it may go H3190 well H3190 for you and that you may prolong H748 your days H3117.
“When H3588 you build H1129 a new H2319 house H1004, you shall make H6213 a [fn]parapet H4624 for your roof H1406, so that you will not bring H7760 guilt H1818 for H1818 bloodshed H1818 on your house H1004 if H3588 anyone H5307 falls H5307 from it.
“You shall not sow H2232 your vineyard H3754 with two H3610 kinds H3610 of seed, otherwise H6435 [fn]all H4395 the produce H4395 of the seed H2233 which H834 you have sown H2232 and the yield H8393 of the vineyard H3754 will be [fn]forfeited H6942 to H6942 the H6942 sanctuary H6942.

Laws on Morality
“If H3588 any H376 man H376 takes H3947 a wife H802 and goes H935 in H935 to her and then [fn]turns H8130 against H8130 her,
and he charges H7760 H1697 her with shameful H5949 behavior H5949 and [fn]publicly H3318 defames H8034 H7451 H3318 her, and says H559, ‘I took H3947 this H2088 woman H802, but when I came H7126 near H7126 her, I did not find H4672 her to have evidence H1331 of H1331 virginity H1331,’ 15 then the girl’s H5291 father H1 and her mother H517 shall take H3947 and bring H3318 out H3318 the evidence H1331 of H1331 the girl’s H5291 virginity H1331 to the elders H2205 of the city H5892 at the gate H8179. 16 And the girl’s H5291 father H1 shall say H559 to the elders H2205, ‘I gave H5414 my daughter H1323 to this H2088 man H376 as a wife H802, but he [fn]turned H8130 against H8130 her; 17 and behold H2009, he has charged H7760 H1697 her with shameful H5949 behavior H5949, saying H559, “I did not find H4672 your daughter H1323 to have evidence H1331 of H1331 virginity H1331.” But [fn]this H428 is the evidence H1331 of H1331 my daughter’s H1323 virginity H1331.’ And they shall spread H6566 out H6566 the garment H8071 before H6440 the elders H2205 of the city H5892. 18 Then the elders H2205 of that city H5892 shall take H3947 the man H376 and rebuke H3256 him, 19 and they shall fine H6064 him a hundred H3967 shekels of silver H3701 and give H5414 it to the girl’s H5291 father H1, because H3588 he [fn]publicly H3318 defamed H8034 H7451 H3318 a virgin H1330 of Israel H3478. And she shall remain H1961 his wife H802; he is not allowed H3201 to [fn]divorce H7971 her all H3605 his days H3117.
“But if H518 this H2088 [fn]charge H1697 is true H571, and they did not find H4672 the girl H5291 to have evidence H1331 of H1331 virginity H1331, 21 then they shall bring H3318 the girl H5291 out H3318 to the doorway H6607 of her father’s H1 house H1004, and the men H376 of her city H5892 shall stone H5619 H68 her [fn]to death H4191, because H3588 she has committed H6213 a disgraceful H5039 sin H5039 in Israel H3478 by playing H2181 the H2181 prostitute H2181 in her father’s H1 house H1004; so you shall eliminate H1197 the evil H7451 from among H7130 you.
“If H3588 a man H376 is found H4672 sleeping H7901 with a married H1166 H1167 woman H802, then both H1571 H8147 of them shall die H4191, the man H376 who slept H7901 with the woman H802, and the woman H802; so you shall eliminate H1197 the evil H7451 from Israel H3478.
“If H3588 there is a girl H5291 who is a virgin H1330 [fn]betrothed H781 to a man H376, and another man H376 finds H4672 her in the city H5892 and sleeps H7901 with her, 24 then you shall bring H3318 them both H8147 out H3318 to the gate H8179 of that city H5892 and you shall stone H5619 H68 them [fn]to death H4191: the girl H5291, because H5921 H1697 H834 she did not cry H6817 out H6817 for H6817 help H6817 though she was in the city H5892, and the man H376, because H5921 H1697 H834 he has violated H6031 his neighbor’s H7453 wife H802. So you shall eliminate H1197 the evil H7451 from among H7130 you.
“But if H518 the man H376 finds H4672 the girl H5291 who is betrothed H781 in the field H7704, and the man H376 seizes H2388 her and [fn]rapes H7901 her, then only H905 the man H376 who H834 [fn]raped H7901 her shall die H4191. 26 And you are not to do H6213 anything H1697 to the girl H5291; there H369 is H369 no H369 sin H2399 in the girl H5291 worthy of death H4194, for just H834 as H834 a man H376 rises H6965 against H5921 his neighbor H7453 and murders H7523 him, [fn]so H3651 is this H2088 case H1697. 27 When H3588 he found H4672 her in the field H7704, the betrothed H781 girl H5291 [fn]cried H6817 out H6817, but there H369 was H369 no H369 one to save H3467 her.
“If H3588 a man H376 finds H4672 a girl H5291 who is a virgin H1330, who H834 is not betrothed H781, and he seizes H8610 her and has H7901 sexual H7901 relations H7901 with her, and they are discovered H4672, 29 then the man H376 who had H7901 sexual H7901 relations H7901 with her shall give H5414 the girl’s H5291 father H1 fifty H2572 shekels of silver H3701, and she shall become H1961 his wife H802, because H8478 H834 he has violated H6031 her; he is not allowed H3201 to divorce H7971 her all H3605 his days H3117.
“[fn]A man H376 shall not take H3947 [fn]his father’s H1 wife H802 in marriage, so that he does not [fn]uncover H1540 his father’s H1 garment H3671.
