To receive ^H3947 instruction ^H4148 in wise ^H7919 behavior ^H7919,

Righteousness ^H6664, justice ^H4941, and integrity ^H4339;

To give ^H5414 prudence ^H6195 to the naive ^H6612,

To the youth ^H5288 knowledge ^H1847 and discretion ^H4209,

A wise ^H2450 person ^H2450 will hear ^H8085 and increase ^H3254 in learning ^H3948,

And a person of understanding ^H995 will acquire ^H7069 wise ^H8458 counsel ^H8458,

To understand ^H995 a proverb ^H4912 and a saying ^H4426,

The words ^H1697 of the wise ^H2450 and their riddles ^H2420.

The fear ^H3374 of the LORD ^H3068 is the beginning ^H7225 of knowledge ^H1847;

Fools ^H191 despise ^H936 wisdom ^H2451 and instruction ^H4148.

Listen ^H8085, my son ^H1121, to your father’s ^H1 instruction ^H4148,

And do not ignore ^H5203 your mother’s ^H517 teaching ^H8451;

For ^H3588 they are a graceful ^H2580 wreath ^H3880 for your head ^H7218

And necklaces ^H6060 for your neck ^H1621.

My son ^H1121, if ^H518 sinners ^H2400 entice ^H6601 you,

Do not consent ^H14.

If ^H518 they say ^H559, “Come ^H1980 with us,

Let’s lie ^H693 in ^H693 wait ^H693 for blood ^H1818,

Let’s ambush ^H6845 the innocent ^H5355 without ^H2600 cause ^H2600;

Let’s swallow ^H1104 them alive ^H2416 like Sheol ^H7585,

Even whole ^H8549, like those who go ^H3381 down ^H3381 to the pit ^H953;

And how long will scoffers ^H3887 delight ^H2530 themselves in scoffing ^H3944

“Turn ^H7725 to my rebuke ^H8433,

Behold ^H2009, I will pour ^H5042 out ^H5042 my spirit ^H7307 on you;
