“I will not drive them out ahead of you in a single year; otherwise, the land would become desolate, and wild animals would multiply against you.

Your land is desolate,

I will make the cities of Judah a desolation,

an uninhabited place.

Listen! A noise ​— ​it is coming —

The cities of Judah will be made desolate,

a jackals’ den.

Many shepherds have destroyed my vineyard;

Then they will know that I am the LORD.

“The inhabited cities will be destroyed, and the land will become dreadful. Then you will know that I am the LORD.’ ”
