My righteousness is near,

my salvation appears,

and my arms will bring justice to the nations.

The coasts and islands will put their hope in me,

and they will look to my strength.[fn]

Seek the LORD while he may be found;

call to him while he is near.

This is what the LORD says:

Preserve justice and do what is right,

for my salvation is coming soon,

and my righteousness will be revealed.

“creating words of praise.”[fn]

The LORD says,

“Peace, peace to the one who is far or near,

and I will heal him.

You planted them, and they have taken root.

They have grown and produced fruit.

You are ever on their lips,[fn]

but far from their conscience.[fn]

“Am I a God who is only near” ​— ​this is the LORD’s declaration ​— ​“and not a God who is far away?

all the kings of the north, both near and far from one another;

that is, all the kingdoms of the world throughout the earth.

Finally, the king of Sheshak[fn] will drink after them.

Moab’s calamity is near at hand;

his disaster is rushing swiftly.

“The one who is far off will die by plague; the one who is near will fall by the sword; and the one who remains and is spared[fn] will die of famine. In this way I will exhaust my wrath on them.

Doom[fn] has come on you,

inhabitants of the land.

The time has come; the day is near.

There will be panic on the mountains

and not celebration.

“They are saying, ‘Isn’t the time near to build houses?[fn] The city is the pot, and we are the meat.’

“Those who are near and those far away from you will mock you, you infamous one full of turmoil.

“Oholah acted like a prostitute even though she was mine. She lusted after her lovers, the Assyrians: warriors

For a day is near;

a day belonging to the LORD is near.

It will be a day of clouds,

a time of doom[fn] for the nations.

Then the man said to me, “The northern and southern chambers that face the courtyard are the holy chambers where the priests who approach the LORD will eat the most holy offerings. There they will deposit the most holy offerings ​— ​the grain offerings, sin offerings, and guilt offerings ​— ​for the place is holy.

“You are to give a bull from the herd as a sin offering to the Levitical priests who are from the offspring of Zadok, who approach me in order to serve me.” This is the declaration of the Lord GOD.

Lord, righteousness belongs to you, but this day public shame belongs to us: the men of Judah, the residents of Jerusalem, and all Israel ​— ​those who are near and those who are far, in all the countries where you have banished them because of the disloyalty they have shown toward you.

Woe because of that day!

For the day of the LORD is near

and will come as devastation from the Almighty.

Blow the ram’s horn in Zion;

sound the alarm on my holy mountain!

Let all the residents of the land tremble,

for the day of the LORD is coming;

in fact, it is near —

Multitudes, multitudes

in the valley of decision!

For the day of the LORD is near

in the valley of decision.

For the day of the LORD is near,

against all the nations.

As you have done, it will be done to you;

what you deserve will return on your own head.

Be silent in the presence of the Lord GOD,

for the day of the LORD is near.

Indeed, the LORD has prepared a sacrifice;

he has consecrated his guests.
