“What if there are fifty righteous people in the city? Will you really sweep it away instead of sparing the place for the sake of the fifty righteous people who are in it?
“and I will have you swear by the LORD, God of heaven and God of earth, that you will not take a wife for my son from the daughters of the Canaanites among whom I live,
But the children inside her struggled with each other, and she said, “Why is this happening to me? ”[fn] So she went to inquire of the LORD.
“When they had devoured them, you could not tell that they had devoured them; their appearance was as bad as it had been before. Then I woke up.
“For the famine has been in the land these two years, and there will be five more years without plowing or harvesting.
the angel who has redeemed me from all harm —
may he bless these boys.
And may they be called by my name
and the names of my fathers Abraham and Isaac,
and may they grow to be numerous within the land.

Then the LORD said to Moses, “Go to Pharaoh, for I have hardened his heart and the hearts of his officials so that I may do these miraculous signs of mine among them,[fn]
“Do not eat any of it raw or cooked in boiling[fn] water, but only roasted over fire — its head as well as its legs and inner organs.
“Be attentive to him and listen to him. Do not defy him, because he will not forgive your acts of rebellion, for my name is in him.
“Serve the LORD your God, and he[fn] will bless your bread and your water. I will remove illnesses from you.
“Take all the fat that covers the entrails, the fatty lobe of the liver, and the two kidneys with the fat on them, and burn them on the altar.
“Cut the ram into pieces. Wash its entrails and legs, and place them with its head and its pieces on the altar.
“Take the fat from the ram, the fat tail, the fat covering the entrails, the fatty lobe of the liver, the two kidneys and the fat on them, and the right thigh (since this is a ram for ordination[fn]);
“Observe the Sabbath, for it is holy to you. Whoever profanes it must be put to death. If anyone does work on it, that person must be cut off from his people.
“Go up to a land flowing with milk and honey. But I will not go up with you because you are a stiff-necked people; otherwise, I might destroy you on the way.”
For the LORD said to Moses, “Tell the Israelites: You are a stiff-necked people. If I went up with you for a single moment, I would destroy you. Now take off your jewelry, and I will decide what to do with you.”
Then he said, “My Lord, if I have indeed found favor with you, my Lord, please go with us (even though this is a stiff-necked people), forgive our iniquity and our sin, and accept us as your own possession.”
And the LORD responded, “Look, I am making a covenant. In the presence of all your people I will perform wonders that have never been done[fn] in the whole earth or in any nation. All the people you live among will see the LORD’s work, for what I am doing with you is awe-inspiring.
“Be careful not to make a treaty with the inhabitants of the land that you are going to enter; otherwise, they will become a snare among you.
“The offerer is to wash its entrails and legs with water. Then the priest will burn all of it on the altar as a burnt offering, a food offering, a pleasing aroma to the LORD.
“But he is to wash the entrails and legs with water. The priest will then present all of it and burn it on the altar; it is a burnt offering, a food offering, a pleasing aroma to the LORD.
“He will present part of the fellowship sacrifice as a food offering to the LORD: the fat surrounding the entrails, all the fat that is on the entrails,

Moses took all the fat that was on the entrails, the fatty lobe of the liver, and the two kidneys with their fat, and he burned them on the altar.
but he washed the entrails and legs with water. He then burned the entire ram on the altar. It was a burnt offering for a pleasing aroma, a food offering to the LORD as he had commanded Moses.
He took the fat — the fat tail, all the fat that was on the entrails, the fatty lobe of the liver, and the two kidneys with their fat — as well as the right thigh.
He washed the entrails and the legs and burned them with the burnt offering on the altar.
“instead of bringing it to the entrance to the tent of meeting to present it as an offering to the LORD before his tabernacle — that person will be considered guilty.[fn] He has shed blood and is to be cut off from his people.
“Anyone from the house of Israel or from the aliens who reside among them who eats any blood, I will turn[fn] against that person who eats blood and cut him off from his people.
“Any person who does any of these detestable practices is to be cut off from his people.
“I will turn[fn] against that man and cut him off from his people, because he gave his offspring to Molech, defiling my sanctuary and profaning my holy name.
“then I will turn against that man and his family, and cut off from their people both him and all who follow[fn] him in prostituting themselves with Molech.
“If a man sleeps with a menstruating woman and has sexual intercourse with her, he has exposed the source of her flow, and she has uncovered the source of her blood. Both of them are to be cut off from their people.
“When he makes her drink the water, if she has defiled herself and been unfaithful to her husband, the water that brings a curse will enter her to cause bitter suffering; her belly will swell, and her womb will shrivel. She will become a curse among her people.
The riffraff[fn] among them had a strong craving for other food. The Israelites wept again and said, “Who will feed us meat?
“but for a whole month — until it comes out of your nostrils and becomes nauseating to you — because you have rejected the LORD who is among you, and wept before him, ‘Why did we ever leave Egypt? ’ ”
But Moses replied, “I’m in the middle of a people with six hundred thousand foot soldiers, yet you say, ‘I will give them meat, and they will eat for a month.’
The LORD said to Moses, “How long will these people despise me? How long will they not trust in me despite all the signs I have performed among them?
But Moses replied to the LORD, “The Egyptians will hear about it, for by your strength you brought up this people from them.
