The man gave names to all the livestock, to the birds of the sky, and to every wild animal; but for the man[fn] no helper was found corresponding to him.
“Since you are banishing me today from the face of the earth, and I must hide from your presence and become a restless wanderer on the earth, whoever finds me will kill me.”
Then the LORD replied to him, “In that case,[fn] whoever kills Cain will suffer vengeance seven times over.” And he placed a mark on Cain so that whoever found him would not kill him.
but the dove found no resting place for its foot. It returned to him in the ark because water covered the surface of the whole earth. He reached out and brought it into the ark to himself.
As people migrated from the east,[fn] they found a valley in the land of Shinar and settled there.

They struck the men who were at the entrance of the house, both young and old, with blindness[fn] so that they were unable to find the entrance.

She said to her father, “Don’t be angry, my lord, that I cannot stand up in your presence; I am having my period.” So Laban searched, but could not find the household idols.
“You’ve searched all my possessions! Have you found anything of yours?[fn] Put it here before my relatives and yours, and let them decide between the two of us.
“I have oxen, donkeys, flocks, and male and female slaves. I have sent this message to inform my lord, in order to seek your favor.’ ”
He also told the second one, the third, and everyone who was walking behind the animals, “Say the same thing to Esau when you find him.
So Esau said, “What do you mean by this whole procession[fn] I met? ”
“To find favor with you, my lord,” he answered.
But Jacob said, “No, please! If I have found favor with you, take this gift from me. For indeed, I have seen your face, and it is like seeing God’s face, since you have accepted me.
Esau said, “Let me leave some of my people with you.”
But he replied, “Why do that? Please indulge me,[fn] my lord.”
Then Shechem said to Dinah’s father and brothers, “Grant me this favor,[fn] and I’ll give you whatever you say.

When Judah sent the young goat by his friend the Adullamite in order to get back the items he had left with the woman, he could not find her.

Joseph found favor with his master and became his personal attendant. Potiphar also put him in charge of his household and placed all that he owned under his authority.[fn]
and he said to them, “Can we find anyone like this, a man who has God’s spirit[fn] in him? ”
“We even brought back to you from the land of Canaan the silver we found at the top of our bags. How could we steal silver or gold from your master’s house?
“If it is found with one of us, your servants, he must die, and the rest of us will become my lord’s slaves.”
The steward replied, “What you have said is right, but only the one who is found to have it will be my slave, and the rest of you will be blameless.”
The steward searched, beginning with the oldest and ending with the youngest, and the cup was found in Benjamin’s sack.
“What can we say to my lord? ” Judah replied. “How can we plead? How can we justify ourselves? God has exposed your servants’ iniquity. We are now my lord’s slaves — both we and the one in whose possession the cup was found.”
Then Joseph said, “I swear that I will not do this. The man in whose possession the cup was found will be my slave. The rest of you can go in peace to your father.”
