But [fn]the Angel of the LORD found her by a spring of water in the wilderness, on the road to [Egypt by way of] Shur.
“Behold, you are with child,
And you will bear a son;
And you shall name him Ishmael (God hears),
Because the LORD has heard and paid attention to your persecution (suffering).
It was evening when the two angels came to Sodom. Lot was sitting at Sodom’s [[fn]city] gate. Seeing them, Lot got up to meet them and bowed down with his face to the ground.
When morning dawned, the angels urged Lot [to hurry], saying, “Get up! Take your wife and two daughters who are here [and go], or you will be swept away in the punishment of the city.”
Then as Jacob went on his way, the angels of God met him [to reassure and protect him].
