“From this holy portion,[fn] you will measure off an area 8 ¹/₃ miles long and 3 ¹/₃ miles[fn] wide, in which the sanctuary, the most holy place, will stand.[fn]

In the four corners of the outer court there were enclosed[fn] courts, 70 feet[fn] long by 52 ¹/₂ feet[fn] wide. All four corner areas had the same dimensions.

“These are the city’s measurements:

1 ¹/₂ miles[fn] on the north side;

1 ¹/₂ miles on the south side;

1 ¹/₂ miles on the east side;

and 1 ¹/₂ miles on the west side.
