Your adversaries roared in the meeting place
where you met with us.[fn]
They set up their emblems as signs.
There are no signs for us to see.
There is no longer a prophet.
And none of us knows how long this will last.

“You performed signs and wonders in the land of Egypt and still do today, both in Israel and among all mankind. You made a name for yourself, as is the case today.
“You brought your people Israel out of Egypt with signs and wonders, with a strong hand and an outstretched arm, and with great terror.
This will be a sign to you’ — this is the LORD’s declaration — ‘that I will punish you in this place, so you may know that my words of disaster concerning you will certainly come to pass.
