And he said to me, “Do you see this, son of man? Is it not enough for the house of Judah to commit the detestable acts they are doing here, that they must also fill the land with violence and repeatedly anger me, even putting the branch to their nose?[fn]

“ ‘Therefore, this is what the Lord GOD says: You have spoken falsely and had lying visions; that’s why you discover that I am against you. This is the declaration of the Lord GOD.

“ ‘Therefore, this is what the Lord GOD says: I am against your magic bands with which you ensnare people like birds, and I will tear them from your arms. I will free the people you have ensnared like birds.

“Even so, there will be survivors left in it, sons and daughters who will be brought out. Indeed, they will come out to you, and you will observe their conduct and actions. Then you will be consoled about the devastation I have brought on Jerusalem, about all I have brought on it.

“I am therefore going to gather all the lovers you pleased ​— ​all those you loved as well as all those you hated. I will gather them against you from all around and expose your nakedness to them so they see you completely naked.

“Look, every life belongs to me. The life of the father is like the life of the son ​— ​both belong to me. The person who sins is the one who will die.

“and say to the forest there, ‘Hear the word of the LORD! This is what the Lord GOD says: I am about to ignite a fire in you, and it will devour every green tree and every dry tree in you. “and say to it, ‘This is what the LORD says: I am against you. I will draw my sword from its sheath and cut off from you both the righteous and the wicked.

“Therefore, this is what the Lord GOD says: Because all of you have become dross, I am about to gather you into Jerusalem.

“Therefore, Oholibah, this is what the Lord GOD says: I am going to incite your lovers against you, those you turned away from in disgust. I will bring them against you from every side:

“I am about to bring strangers against you,

ruthless men from the nations.

when I execute judgments against her

Look! I am against you, Mount Seir.

I will stretch out my hand against you

and make you a desolate waste.

“Therefore, prophesy concerning Israel’s land, and say to the mountains and hills, to the ravines and valleys: This is what the Lord GOD says: Look, I speak in my burning zeal because you have endured the insults of the nations.

“Look! I am on your side; I will turn toward you, and you will be tilled and sown.

“and say, ‘This is what the Lord GOD says: Look, I am against you, Gog, chief prince of Meshech and Tubal.

“As for you, son of man, prophesy against Gog and say, ‘This is what the Lord GOD says: Look, I am against you, Gog, chief prince of[fn] Meshech and Tubal.
