But rebuke ^H3198 one who has ^H995 understanding ^H995, and he will [fn]gain ^H995 knowledge ^H1847.

Stop ^H2308 listening ^H8085, my son ^H1121, to discipline ^H4148,

And you will stray ^H7686 from the words ^H561 of knowledge ^H1847.

There ^H3426 is ^H3426 gold ^H2091, and an abundance ^H7230 of [fn]jewels ^H6443;

But lips ^H8193 of knowledge ^H1847 are a more precious ^H3366 thing ^H3627.

When the scoffer ^H3887 is punished ^H6064, the naive ^H6612 becomes ^H2449 wise ^H2449;

But when the wise ^H2449 is instructed ^H7919, he receives ^H3947 knowledge ^H1847.

“He pled ^H1777 the cause ^H1779 of the afflicted ^H6041 and the poor ^H34,

Is that not what it means to know ^H1847 Me?”

Declares ^H5002 the LORD ^H3068.

Every ^H3605 person ^H120 is ^H1197 stupid ^H1197, devoid ^H4480 of knowledge ^H1847;

Every ^H3605 goldsmith ^H6884 is put ^H954 to ^H954 shame ^H954 by his [fn]idols ^H6459,

For his cast ^H5262 metal ^H5262 images ^H5262 are deceitful ^H8267,

And there is no ^H3808 breath ^H7307 in them.

Listen ^H8085 to the word ^H1697 of the LORD ^H3068, you sons ^H1121 of Israel ^H3478,

Because ^H3588 the LORD ^H3068 has a case ^H7379 against ^H5973 the inhabitants ^H3427 of the land ^H776,

For there ^H369 is ^H369 no ^H369 [fn]faithfulness ^H571, nor ^H369 [fn]loyalty ^H2617,

Nor ^H369 knowledge ^H1847 of God ^H430 in the land ^H776.

My people ^H5971 are destroyed ^H1820 for lack ^H369 of knowledge ^H1847.

Since ^H3588 you have rejected ^H3988 knowledge ^H1847,

I also will reject ^H3988 you from being ^H3547 My priest ^H3547.

Since you have forgotten ^H7911 the Law ^H8451 of your God ^H430,

I also ^H1571 will forget ^H7911 your children ^H1121.

For I [fn]desire ^H2654 loyalty ^H2617 rather ^H3808 than ^H3808 sacrifice ^H2077,

And the knowledge ^H1847 of God ^H430 rather ^H4480 than ^H4480 burnt ^H5930 offerings ^H5930.
