From those who forsake ^H5800 the paths ^H734 of uprightness ^H3476

Go ^H1980 to the ant ^H5244, O sluggard ^H6102,

Observe ^H7200 her ways ^H1870 and be ^H2449 wise ^H2449,

“To you, O men ^H376, I call ^H7121,

And my voice ^H6963 is to the sons ^H1121 of men ^H120.

“Woe ^H188 is me, for I am ruined ^H1820!

For ^H3588 I am a man ^H376 of unclean ^H2931 lips ^H8193,

Behold ^H2009, I do not know ^H3045 how to speak ^H1696

Because ^H3588 I am a youth ^H5288.”

Then I said ^H559, “Ah ^H162, Lord ^H136 Yahweh ^H3068! Surely ^H403 You have utterly ^H5378 deceived ^H5378 this ^H2088 people ^H5971 and Jerusalem ^H3389, saying ^H559, ‘You will have ^H1961 peace ^H7965’; whereas a sword ^H2719 touches ^H5060 the [fn]throat ^H5315.”

For thus ^H3541 says ^H559 Yahweh ^H3068 of hosts ^H6635,

“Cut ^H3772 down ^H3772 her trees ^H6097

And cast ^H8210 up ^H8210 a siege ^H5550 against ^H5921 Jerusalem ^H3389.

This ^H1931 is the city ^H5892 to be punished ^H6485,

In whose midst ^H7130 there is only ^H3605 oppression ^H6233.

Who uses ^H5647 his neighbor’s ^H7453 services ^H5647 without ^H2600 pay ^H2600

“They will not lament ^H5594 for him:

‘Alas ^H1945, my brother ^H251!’ or, ‘Alas ^H1945, sister ^H269!’

They will not lament ^H5594 for him:

‘Alas ^H1945 for the master ^H113!’ or, ‘Alas ^H1945 for his splendor ^H1935!’

“Woe ^H1945 to the shepherds ^H7462 who are [fn]destroying ^H6 and scattering ^H6327 the sheep ^H6629 of My pasture ^H4830!” declares ^H5002 Yahweh ^H3068.

“I set ^H3369 a ^H3369 snare ^H3369 for you, and you were also ^H1571 caught ^H3920, O Babylon ^H894,

But you yourself ^H859 did ^H3045 not know ^H3045;

You have been found ^H4672 and also ^H1571 seized ^H8610

Because ^H3588 you have engaged ^H1624 in ^H1624 conflict ^H1624 with Yahweh ^H3068.”

‘Therefore ^H3651, thus ^H3541 says ^H559 Lord ^H136 Yahweh ^H3068,

“Woe ^H188 to the city ^H5892 of blood ^H1818,

To the pot ^H5518 in which ^H834 there is rust ^H2457

And whose rust ^H2457 has not gone ^H3318 out ^H3318 of it!

Take ^H3318 out ^H3318 of it piece ^H5409 after piece ^H5409,

“Wail ^H3213, ‘Alas ^H1929 for the day ^H3117!’

Woe ^H1945 to the city ^H5892 of [fn]bloodshed ^H1818, completely ^H3605 full ^H4392 of deception ^H3585 and pillage ^H6563;

Her prey ^H2964 never ^H3808 departs ^H4185.

“Woe ^H1945 to him who is greedy ^H1214 for evil ^H7451 gain ^H1215 for his house ^H1004

To put ^H7760 his nest ^H7064 on high ^H4791,

To be delivered ^H5337 from the hand ^H3709 of evil ^H7451!

“Woe ^H1945 to you who make ^H8248 [fn]your neighbors ^H7453 drink ^H8248,

Who mix ^H5596 in your venom ^H2534 even ^H637 to make ^H7937 them drunk ^H7937

So ^H4616 as to look ^H5027 on their nakedness ^H4589!

Woe ^H1945 to her who is rebellious ^H4784 and defiled ^H1351,

The oppressive ^H3238 city ^H5892!

“[fn]Ho ^H1945 there ^H1945! Flee ^H5127 from the land ^H776 of the north ^H6828,” declares ^H5002 Yahweh ^H3068, “for I have dispersed ^H6566 you as the four ^H702 winds ^H7307 of the heavens ^H8064,” declares ^H5002 Yahweh ^H3068.

“Woe ^H1945 to the worthless ^H457 shepherd ^H7473

Who forsakes ^H5800 the flock ^H6629!

A sword ^H2719 will be on his arm ^H2220

And on his right ^H3225 eye ^H5869!

His arm ^H2220 will be totally ^H3001 dried ^H3001 up ^H3001,

And his right ^H3225 eye ^H5869 will be utterly dimmed ^H3543.”
