Now in a large house there are not only gold and silver vessels, but also those of wood and clay; some for honorable[fn] use and some for dishonorable.[fn]

It had the gold altar of incense and the ark of the covenant, covered with gold on all sides, in which was a gold jar containing the manna, Aaron’s staff that budded, and the tablets of the covenant.

Then I turned to see whose voice it was that spoke to me. When I turned I saw seven golden lampstands,

“The mystery of the seven stars you saw in my right hand and of the seven golden lampstands is this: The seven stars are the angels[fn] of the seven churches, and the seven lampstands[fn] are the seven churches.

“Write to the angel[fn] of the church in Ephesus: Thus says the one who holds the seven stars in his right hand and who walks among the seven golden lampstands:

Around the throne were twenty-four thrones, and on the thrones sat twenty-four elders dressed in white clothes, with golden crowns on their heads.

When he took the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb. Each one had a harp and golden bowls filled with incense, which are the prayers of the saints.

Another angel, with a golden incense burner, came and stood at the altar. He was given a large amount of incense to offer with the prayers of all the saints on the golden altar in front of the throne.

The sixth angel blew his trumpet. From the four[fn] horns of the golden altar that is before God, I heard a voice

The rest of the people, who were not killed by these plagues, did not repent of the works of their hands to stop worshiping demons and idols of gold, silver, bronze, stone, and wood, which cannot see, hear, or walk.

Then I looked, and there was a white cloud, and one like the Son of Man[fn] was seated on the cloud, with a golden crown on his head and a sharp sickle in his hand.

Out of the temple came the seven angels with the seven plagues, dressed in pure, bright linen, with golden sashes wrapped around their chests.

The woman was dressed in purple and scarlet, adorned with gold, jewels, and pearls. She had a golden cup in her hand filled with everything detestable and with the impurities of her[fn] prostitution.

The one who spoke with me had a golden measuring rod to measure the city, its gates, and its wall.
