“Now the one sown among the thorns ​— ​this is one who hears the word, but the worries of this age and the deceitfulness[fn] of wealth choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful.

“but the worries of this age, the deceitfulness[fn] of wealth, and the desires for other things enter in and choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful.

“As for the seed that fell among thorns, these are the ones who, when they have heard, go on their way and are choked with worries, riches, and pleasures of life, and produce no mature fruit.

Or do you despise the riches of his kindness, restraint, and patience, not recognizing[fn] that God’s kindness is intended to lead you to repentance?

And what if he did this to make known the riches of his glory on objects of mercy that he prepared beforehand for glory ​— ​

Now if their transgression brings riches for the world, and their failure riches for the Gentiles, how much more will their fullness bring!

Oh, the depth of the riches

and the wisdom and the knowledge of God!

How unsearchable his judgments

and untraceable his ways!

During a severe trial brought about by affliction, their abundant joy and their extreme poverty overflowed in a wealth of generosity on their part.

In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace

I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened so that you may know what is the hope of his calling, what is the wealth of his glorious inheritance in the saints,
