Or can the skies alone give showers?

We therefore put our hope in you,
for you have done all these things.
“Now this was the iniquity of your sister Sodom: She and her daughters had pride, plenty of food, and comfortable security, but didn’t support[fn] the poor and needy.
“You will eat fat until you are satisfied and drink blood until you are drunk, at my sacrificial feast that I have prepared for you.
When they had pasture,
they became satisfied;
they were satisfied,
and their hearts became proud.
Therefore they forgot me.
You will be filled with disgrace instead of glory.
You also — drink,
and expose your uncircumcision![fn]
The cup in the LORD’s right hand
will come around to you,
and utter disgrace will cover your glory.
