After many days had passed, the Jews conspired to kill him,

After they had completed their relief mission, Barnabas and Saul returned to[fn] Jerusalem, taking along John who was called Mark.

After two years had passed, Porcius Festus succeeded Felix, and because Felix wanted to do the Jews a favor, he left Paul in prison.

They are filled with all unrighteousness,[fn] evil, greed, and wickedness. They are full of envy, murder, quarrels, deceit, and malice. They are gossips,

in order that the law’s requirement would be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.

Do not owe anyone anything, except to love one another, for the one who loves another has fulfilled the law.

Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you believe so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

I am very frank with you; I have great pride in you. I am filled with encouragement; I am overflowing with joy in all our afflictions.

And we are ready to punish any disobedience, once your obedience is complete.

For the whole law is fulfilled in one statement: Love your neighbor as yourself.

which is his body, the fullness of the one who fills all things in every way.

and to know Christ’s love that surpasses knowledge, so that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.

The one who descended is also the one who ascended far above all the heavens, to fill all things.

And don’t get drunk with wine, which leads to reckless living, but be filled by the Spirit:

filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ to the glory and praise of God.

make my joy complete by thinking the same way, having the same love, united in spirit, intent on one purpose.

But I have received everything in full, and I have an abundance. I am fully supplied,[fn] having received from Epaphroditus what you provided ​— ​a fragrant offering, an acceptable sacrifice, pleasing to God.

For this reason also, since the day we heard this, we haven’t stopped praying for you. We are asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding,[fn]

and you have been filled by him, who is the head over every ruler and authority.

And tell Archippus, “Pay attention to the ministry you have received in the Lord, so that you can accomplish it.”

In view of this, we always pray for you that our God will make you worthy of his calling, and by his power fulfill your every desire to do good[fn] and your work produced by faith,

Remembering your tears, I long to see you so that I may be filled with joy.

and the Scripture was fulfilled that says, Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness, and he was called God’s friend.

We are writing these things[fn] so that our[fn] joy may be complete.

Though I have many things to write to you, I don’t want to use paper and ink. Instead, I hope to come to you and talk face to face so that our joy may be complete.

“Be alert and strengthen[fn] what remains, which is about to die,[fn] for I have not found your works complete before my God.

So they were each given a white robe, and they were told to rest a little while longer until the number would be completed of their fellow servants and their brothers and sisters, who were going to be killed just as they had been.
