Just as the LORD had commanded his servant Moses, Moses commanded Joshua. That is what Joshua did, leaving nothing undone of all that the LORD had commanded Moses.

“If you break the covenant of the LORD your God, which he commanded you, and go and serve other gods, and bow in worship to them, the LORD’s anger will burn against you, and you will quickly disappear from this good land he has given you.”

“Don’t turn away to follow worthless[fn] things that can’t profit or rescue you; they are worthless.

All Israel has broken your law and turned away, refusing to obey you. The promised curse[fn] written in the law of Moses, the servant of God, has been poured out on us because we have sinned against him.

But they, like Adam,[fn] have violated the covenant;

there they have betrayed me.

Put the ram’s horn to your mouth!

One like an eagle comes

against the house of the LORD,

because they transgress my covenant

and rebel against my law.
