“Don’t store up for yourselves treasures[fn] on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal.
“But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, and where thieves don’t break in and steal.
“Other seed fell on rocky ground where it didn’t have much soil, and it grew up quickly since the soil wasn’t deep.
“The man who had received one talent also approached and said, ‘Master, I know you. You’re a harsh man, reaping where you haven’t sown and gathering where you haven’t scattered seed.
“His master replied to him, ‘You evil, lazy servant! If you knew that I reap where I haven’t sown and gather where I haven’t scattered,
“Truly I tell you, wherever this gospel is proclaimed in the whole world, what she has done will also be told in memory of her.”
Those who had arrested Jesus led him away to Caiaphas the high priest, where the scribes and the elders had convened.
“He is not here. For he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay.
Since they were not able to bring him to[fn] Jesus because of the crowd, they removed the roof above him, and after digging through it, they lowered the mat on which the paralytic was lying.

They hurried throughout that region and began to carry the sick on mats to wherever they heard he was.
Wherever he went, into villages, towns, or the country, they laid the sick in the marketplaces and begged him that they might touch just the end of his robe. And everyone who touched it was healed.
