T. where even in πόλις ὅλῃ the city is opposed only to its parts); add the following examples: Matthew 16:26; Matthew 26:59; Luke 9:25; Luke 11:36a; John 4:53; Romans 16:23 (R G); 1 John 5:19; Revelation 3:10; Revelation 6:12 G L T Tr WH; Revelation 12:9; 16:14. It is subjoined to an adjective or a verb to show that the idea expressed by the adjective or verb belongs to the whole person or thing under consideration: Matthew 13:33; Luke 11:36b; Luke 13:21; John 9:34; John 13:10, (Xenophon, mem. 2, 6, 28).
