Haran died in his native land, in Ur of the Chaldeans, during his father Terah’s lifetime.

The LORD replied to Moses, “Whoever has sinned against me I will erase from my book.
The LORD would speak with Moses face to face, just as a man speaks with his friend, then Moses would return to the camp. His assistant, the young man Joshua son of Nun, would not leave the inside of the tent.
The LORD answered Moses, “I will do this very thing you have asked, for you have found favor with me, and I know you by name.”
Then he said, “My Lord, if I have indeed found favor with you, my Lord, please go with us (even though this is a stiff-necked people), forgive our iniquity and our sin, and accept us as your own possession.”
And the LORD responded, “Look, I am making a covenant. In the presence of all your people I will perform wonders that have never been done[fn] in the whole earth or in any nation. All the people you live among will see the LORD’s work, for what I am doing with you is awe-inspiring.
“You may redeem the firstborn of a donkey with a sheep, but if you do not redeem it, break its neck. You must redeem all the firstborn of your sons. No one is to appear before me empty-handed.
“Three times a year all your males are to appear before the Lord GOD, the God of Israel.
“He is to bring the bull to the entrance to the tent of meeting before the LORD, lay his hand on the bull’s head, and slaughter it before the LORD.
“He is to apply some of the blood to the horns of the altar that is before the LORD in the tent of meeting. He will pour out the rest of the blood at the base of the altar of burnt offering that is at the entrance to the tent of meeting.
“He is to lay his hand on the head of the goat and slaughter it at the place where the burnt offering is slaughtered before the LORD. It is a sin offering.
“But if as far as he can see, the scaly outbreak remains unchanged and black hair has grown in it, then it has healed; he is clean. The priest is to pronounce the person clean.
“If a man marries his sister, whether his father’s daughter or his mother’s daughter, and they have sexual relations,[fn] it is a disgrace. They are to be cut off publicly from their people. He has had sexual intercourse with his sister; he will bear his iniquity.
“Aaron is to tend it continually from evening until morning before the LORD outside the curtain of the testimony in the tent of meeting. This is a permanent statute throughout your generations.
“The bread is to be set out before the LORD every Sabbath day as a permanent covenant obligation on the part of the Israelites.
“He will stay with him like a man hired year by year. A resident alien is not to rule over him harshly in your sight.
“We even saw the Nephilim there — the descendants of Anak come from the Nephilim! To ourselves we seemed like grasshoppers, and we must have seemed the same to them.”
The LORD told Moses, “Put Aaron’s staff back in front of the testimony to be kept as a sign for the rebels, so that you may put an end to their complaints before me, or else they will die.”
“Give it to the priest Eleazar, and he will have it brought outside the camp and slaughtered in his presence.
“which the LORD struck down before the community of Israel, is good land for livestock, and your servants own livestock.”
They said, “If we have found favor with you, let this land be given to your servants as a possession. Don’t make us cross the Jordan.”
“See, I have set the land before you. Enter and take possession of the land the LORD swore to give to your ancestors Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob and their future descendants.’
“But the LORD said to me, ‘Tell them: Don’t go up and fight, for I am not with you to keep you from being defeated by your enemies.’
“And what great nation has righteous statutes and ordinances like this entire law I set before you today?
“Or has a god attempted to go and take a nation as his own out of another nation, by trials, signs, wonders, and war, by a strong hand and an outstretched arm, by great terrors, as the LORD your God did for you in Egypt before your eyes?
“Before our eyes the LORD inflicted great and devastating signs and wonders on Egypt, on Pharaoh, and on all his household,
“You are not to do as we are doing here today; everyone is doing whatever seems right in his own sight.
“All your males are to appear three times a year before the LORD your God in the place he chooses: at the Festival of Unleavened Bread, the Festival of Weeks, and the Festival of Shelters. No one is to appear before the LORD empty-handed.
Moses summoned all Israel and said to them, “You have seen with your own eyes everything the LORD did in Egypt to Pharaoh, to all his officials, and to his entire land.
“when all Israel assembles in the presence of the LORD your God at the place he chooses, you are to read this law aloud before all Israel.
There on the stones, Joshua copied the law of Moses, which he had written in the presence of the Israelites.
The LORD said to Joshua, “Do not be afraid of them, for I have handed them over to you. Not one of them will be able to stand against you.”
