Trench's Synonyms: iv. ἐπιτιμάω, ἐλέγχω (αἰτία, ἔλεγχος).
Strong's Number G1650 matches the Greek ἔλεγχος (elegchos),
which occurs 23 times in 23 verses
in the LXX Greek.
Do you think that you can disprove my words
or that a despairing man’s words are mere wind?
I wish that someone might argue for a man with God
just as anyone[fn] would for a friend.

and I would escape from my Judge[fn] forever.
For a command is a lamp, teaching is a light,
and corrective discipline is the way to life.
Poverty and disgrace come to those
who ignore discipline,
but the one who accepts correction will be honored.
Discipline is harsh for the one who leaves the path;
the one who hates correction will die.
Anyone who ignores discipline despises himself,
but whoever listens to correction acquires good sense.[fn]
The highway of the upright avoids evil;
the one who guards his way protects his life.
The one who conceals his sins
will not prosper,
but whoever confesses and renounces them
will find mercy.
One who becomes stiff-necked,
after many reprimands
will be shattered instantly —
beyond recovery.
“I will demolish the wall you plastered with whitewash and knock it to the ground so that its foundation is exposed. The city will fall, and you will be destroyed within it. Then you will know that I am the LORD.
Ephraim will become a desolation
on the day of punishment;
I announce what is certain
among the tribes of Israel.
