a. to have one's strength relaxed, to be enfeebled through exhaustion, to grow weak, grow weary, be tired out, (often so in Greek writings): of the body, Matthew 9:36 Rec.; Matt 15:32; Mark 8:3; thus for עָיֵף, 1 Samuel 14:28; 2 Samuel 17:29; for רָפָה, 2 Samuel 4:1 etc.; of the mind, Galatians 6:9 (μὴ ἐκλυόμενοι if we faint not, namely, in well-doing).
