“For I too am a man under authority, having soldiers under my command.[fn] I say to this one, ‘Go,’ and he goes; and to another, ‘Come,’ and he comes; and to my servant, ‘Do this! ’ and he does it.”
“It is enough for a disciple to become like his teacher and a slave like his master. If they called the head of the house ‘Beelzebul,’ how much more the members of his household!
“The landowner’s servants came to him and said, ‘Master, didn’t you sow good seed in your field? Then where did the weeds come from? ’
“ ‘An enemy did this,’ he told them.
“ ‘So, do you want us to go and pull them up? ’ the servants asked him.
“For this reason, the kingdom of heaven can be compared to a king who wanted to settle accounts with his servants.
“At this, the servant fell facedown before him and said, ‘Be patient with me, and I will pay you everything.’
“Then the master of that servant had compassion, released him, and forgave him the loan.
