Luke 1:32; υἱὸς Δ., a name of the Messiah, viz. the descendant of David and heir to his throne (see υἱός, 1 b.); ῥίζα Δ. the offspring of David, Revelation 5:5; Revelation 22:16; βασιλεία τοῦ Δ.
