Proleg., p. 116; WHs Appendix, p. 156], Gomorrah (עַמֹרָה, cf. עַזָּה Gaza), the name of a city in the eastern part of Judæa, destroyed by the same earthquake [cf. B. D. under the word Sea, The Salt] with Sodom and its neighbor cities: Genesis 19:24. Their site is now occupied by the Asphaltic Lake or Dead Sea [cf. BB. DD., see under the words, Gomorrah and Sodom]: Matthew 10:15; Mark 6:11 R L in brackets; Romans 9:29; 2 Peter 2:6; Jude 1:7.
