Strong's Number G1009 matches the Greek βότρυς (botrys),
which occurs 13 times in 11 verses
in the LXX Greek.
“On the vine were three branches. As soon as it budded, its blossoms came out and its clusters ripened into grapes.
When they came to Eshcol Valley, they cut down a branch with a single cluster of grapes, which was carried on a pole by two men. They also took some pomegranates and figs.
That place was called Eshcol[fn] Valley because of the cluster of grapes the Israelites cut there.
“After they went up as far as Eshcol Valley and saw the land, they discouraged the Israelites from entering the land the LORD had given them.
“They left and went up into the hill country and came to Eshcol Valley, scouting the land.
For their vine is from the vine of Sodom
and from the fields of Gomorrah.
Their grapes are poisonous;
their clusters are bitter.
I said, “I will climb the palm tree
and take hold of its fruit.”
May your breasts be like clusters of grapes,
and the fragrance of your breath like apricots.
The LORD says this:
“As the new wine is found in a bunch of grapes,
and one says, ‘Don’t destroy it,
for there’s some good[fn] in it,’
so I will act because of my servants
and not destroy them all.
