Then after Abram’s return from the defeat (slaughter) of Chedorlaomer and the kings who were with him, the king of Sodom went out to meet him at the Valley of Shaveh (that is, the King’s Valley).
It was evening when the two angels came to Sodom. Lot was sitting at Sodom’s [[fn]city] gate. Seeing them, Lot got up to meet them and bowed down with his face to the ground.
When Laban heard of the arrival of Jacob, his sister’s son, he ran to meet him, and embraced and kissed him and brought him to his house. Then he told Laban all these things.
