By the God of your father who will help you,
And by the [fn]Almighty who blesses you
With blessings of the heavens above,
Blessings lying in the deep that couches beneath,
Blessings of the [nursing] breasts and of the [fertile] womb.
‘Who ate the fat of their sacrifices,
And drank the wine of their drink offering?
Let them rise up and help you,
Let them be your hiding place!
So the men of Gibeon sent word to Joshua at the camp in Gilgal, saying, “Do not [fn]abandon your servants; come up to us quickly and save us and help us, for all [five of] the kings of the Amorites who live in the hill country have assembled against us.”

Therefore my heart greatly rejoices,
And with my song I shall thank Him and praise Him.
The LORD helps them and rescues them;
He rescues them from the wicked and saves them,
Because they take refuge in Him.
God is in the midst of her [His city], she will not be moved;
God will help her when the morning dawns.
Behold, God is my helper and ally;
The Lord is the sustainer of my soul [my upholder].
For he will rescue the needy when he cries for help,
The afflicted and abused also, and him who has no helper.
