After a long time, the king of Egypt died. The Israelites groaned because of their difficult labor, they cried out, and their cry for help because of the difficult labor ascended to God.
“Don’t continue to supply the people with straw for making bricks, as before. They must go and gather straw for themselves.
“But require the same quota of bricks from them as they were making before; do not reduce it. For they are slackers — that is why they are crying out, ‘Let us go and sacrifice to our God.’

“Moses alone is to approach the LORD, but the others are not to approach, and the people are not to go up with him.”
“They must eat those things by which atonement was made at the time of their ordination[fn] and consecration. An unauthorized person must not eat them, for these things are holy.
“Make two gold rings for it under the molding on two of its sides; put these on opposite sides of it to be holders for the poles to carry it with.
Then Moses turned and went down the mountain with the two tablets of the testimony in his hands. They were inscribed on both sides — inscribed front and back.
The tablets were the work of God, and the writing was God’s writing, engraved on the tablets.
Bezalel, Oholiab, and all the skilled[fn] people are to work based on everything the LORD has commanded. The LORD has given them wisdom and understanding to know how to do all the work of constructing the sanctuary.”
They took from Moses’s presence all the contributions that the Israelites had brought for the task of making the sanctuary. Meanwhile, the people continued to bring freewill offerings morning after morning.
Then all the artisans who were doing all the work for the sanctuary came one by one from the work they were doing
