“They will not enter my rest,”

For when God made a promise to Abraham, since he had no one greater to swear by, he swore by himself:
For people swear by something greater than themselves, and for them a confirming oath ends every dispute.
but he became a priest with an oath made by the one who said to him:
The Lord has sworn
and will not change his mind,
“You are a priest forever.”
Above all, my brothers and sisters, do not swear, either by heaven or by earth or with any other oath. But let your “yes” mean “yes,” and your “no” mean “no,” so that you won’t fall under judgment.[fn]
