(They used a measure called an omer, which held two quarts.[fn])

“Each curtain should be forty-two feet[fn] long and six feet[fn] wide; all the curtains are to have the same measurements.

“Each curtain should be forty-five feet[fn] long and six feet wide. All eleven curtains are to have the same measurements.

“Do not be unfair in measurements of length, weight, or volume.

“You may purchase food from them, so that you may eat, and buy water from them to drink.

“Do not have differing dry measures in your house, a larger and a smaller.

The second cherub also was 15 feet; both cherubim had the same size and shape.

Above were also costly stones, cut to size, as well as cedar wood.

In this way he made the ten water carts using the same casting, dimensions, and shape for all of them.

Elisha replied, “Hear the word of the LORD! This is what the LORD says: ‘About this time tomorrow at Samaria’s gate, six quarts[fn] of fine flour will sell for a half ounce of silver[fn] and twelve quarts[fn] of barley will sell for a half ounce of silver.’ ”

Then the people went out and plundered the Aramean camp. It was then that six quarts of fine flour sold for a half ounce of silver and twelve quarts of barley sold for a half ounce of silver, according to the word of the LORD.

When the man of God had said to the king, “About this time tomorrow twelve quarts of barley will sell for a half ounce of silver and six quarts of fine flour will sell for a half ounce of silver at Samaria’s gate,”

When God fixed the weight of the wind

and distributed the water by measure,

Who fixed its dimensions? Certainly you know!

Who stretched a measuring line across it?

You fed them the bread of tears

and gave them a full measure[fn]

of tears to drink.

Differing weights and varying measures[fn] —

both are detestable to the LORD.

For a ten-acre[fn] vineyard will yield

only six gallons of wine,[fn]

and ten bushels[fn] of seed will yield

only one bushel of grain.[fn]

The woodworker stretches out a measuring line,

he outlines it with a stylus;

he shapes it with chisels

and outlines it with a compass.

He makes it according to a human form,

like a beautiful person,

to dwell in a temple.

The LORD determined to destroy

the wall of Daughter Zion.

He stretched out a measuring line

and did not restrain himself from destroying.

He made the ramparts and walls grieve;

together they waste away.

“You will also drink a ration of water, a sixth of a gallon,[fn] which you will drink at set times.

He measured the east side with a measuring rod;

it was 875 feet[fn] by the measuring rod.[fn]

“These are the measurements of the altar in units of length (each unit being the standard length plus three inches):[fn] The gutter is 21 inches[fn] deep and 21 inches wide, with a rim of nine inches[fn] around its edge. This is the base[fn] of the altar.

“You are to have honest scales, an honest dry measure,[fn] and an honest liquid measure.[fn]
