“But when you give to the poor, don’t let your left hand know what your right hand is doing,

“Then I will announce to them, ‘I never knew you. Depart from me, you lawbreakers! ’[fn]

And their eyes were opened. Then Jesus warned them sternly, “Be sure that no one finds out.”

“Therefore, don’t be afraid of them, since there is nothing covered that won’t be uncovered and nothing hidden that won’t be made known.

“If you had known what this means, I desire mercy and not sacrifice, you would not have condemned the innocent.

Jesus was aware of this and withdrew. Large crowds[fn] followed him, and he healed them all.

“Either make the tree good and its fruit will be good, or make the tree bad[fn] and its fruit will be bad; for a tree is known by its fruit.

He answered, “Because the secrets of the kingdom of heaven have been given for you to know, but it has not been given to them.

“And in the morning, ‘Today will be stormy because the sky is red and threatening.’ You[fn] know how to read the appearance of the sky, but you can’t read the signs of the times.[fn]

Aware of this, Jesus said, “You of little faith, why are you discussing among yourselves that you do not have bread?

When the chief priests and the Pharisees heard his parables, they knew he was speaking about them.

Perceiving their malicious intent, Jesus said, “Why are you testing me, hypocrites?

“Learn this lesson from the fig tree: As soon as its branch becomes tender and sprouts leaves, you know that summer is near.

“They didn’t know until the flood came and swept them all away. This is the way the coming of the Son of Man will be.

“But know this: If the homeowner had known what time[fn] the thief was coming, he would have stayed alert and not let his house be broken into.

“that servant’s master will come on a day he does not expect him and at an hour he does not know.

“The man who had received one talent also approached and said, ‘Master, I know you. You’re a harsh man, reaping where you haven’t sown and gathering where you haven’t scattered seed.

Aware of this, Jesus said to them, “Why are you bothering this woman? She has done a noble thing for me.

Then he said to them, “Don’t you understand this parable? How then will you understand all of the parables?

Instantly her flow of blood ceased, and she sensed in her body that she was healed of her affliction.

Then he gave them strict orders that no one should know about this and told them to give her something to eat.

He asked them, “How many loaves do you have? Go and see.”

When they found out they said, “Five, and two fish.”

He got up and departed from there to the region of Tyre.[fn] He entered a house and did not want anyone to know it, but he could not escape notice.

Aware of this, he said to them, “Why are you discussing the fact you have no bread? Don’t you understand or comprehend? Do you have hardened hearts?

Then they left that place and made their way through Galilee, but he did not want anyone to know it.

They were looking for a way to arrest him but feared the crowd because they knew he had spoken this parable against them. So they left him and went away.

For he knew it was because of envy that the chief priests had handed him over.

When he found out from the centurion, he gave the corpse to Joseph.

“How can I know this? ” Zechariah asked the angel. “For I am an old man, and my wife is well along in years.”

Mary asked the angel, “How can this be, since I have not had sexual relations with a man? ”[fn]

After those days were over, as they were returning, the boy Jesus stayed behind in Jerusalem, but his parents[fn] did not know it.

“For each tree is known by its own fruit. Figs aren’t gathered from thornbushes, or grapes picked from a bramble bush.

When the Pharisee who had invited him saw this, he said to himself, “This man, if he were a prophet, would know who and what kind of woman this is who is touching him ​— ​she’s a sinner! ”

So he said, “The secrets of the kingdom of God have been given for you to know, but to the rest it is in parables, so that

Looking they may not see,

and hearing they may not understand.

“For nothing is concealed that won’t be revealed, and nothing hidden that won’t be made known and brought to light.

“Someone did touch me,” said Jesus. “I know that power has gone out from me.”

When the crowds found out, they followed him. He welcomed them, spoke to them about the kingdom of God, and healed those who needed healing.

“‘We are wiping off even the dust of your town that clings to our feet as a witness against you. Know this for certain: The kingdom of God has come near.’

“All things have[fn] been entrusted to me by my Father. No one knows who the Son is except the Father, and who the Father is except the Son, and anyone to whom the Son desires[fn] to reveal him.”

“There is nothing covered that won’t be uncovered, nothing hidden that won’t be made known.

“But know this: If the homeowner had known at what hour the thief was coming, he would not have let his house be broken into.

“that servant’s master will come on a day he does not expect him and at an hour he does not know. He will cut him to pieces[fn] and assign him a place with the unfaithful.[fn]

“I know what I’ll do so that when I’m removed from management, people will welcome me into their homes.’

And he told them, “You are the ones who justify yourselves in the sight of others, but God knows your hearts. For what is highly admired by people is revolting in God’s sight.
