Strong's Number G1014 matches the Greek βούλομαι (boulomai),
which occurs 13 times in 11 verses in 'Isa'
in the LXX Greek.
“What are all your sacrifices to me? ”
asks the LORD.
“I have had enough of burnt offerings and rams
and the fat of well-fed cattle;
I have no desire for the blood of bulls,
lambs, or male goats.
Indeed, they[fn] will be ashamed of the sacred trees
you desired,
and you will be embarrassed because of the garden shrines
you have chosen.
Because these people rejected
the slowly flowing water of Shiloah
and rejoiced with[fn] Rezin
and the son of Remaliah,
They are a rebellious people,
deceptive children,
children who do not want to listen to the LORD’s instruction.
For the Lord GOD, the Holy One of Israel, has said:
“You will be delivered by returning and resting;
your strength will lie in quiet confidence.
But you are not willing.”
Don’t listen to Hezekiah, for this is what the king of Assyria says: “Make peace[fn] with me and surrender to me. Then every one of you may eat from his own vine and his own fig tree and drink water from his own cistern
Because of his righteousness, the LORD was pleased
to magnify his instruction and make it glorious.
Who gave Jacob to the robber,[fn]
and Israel to the plunderers?
Was it not the LORD?
Have we not sinned against him?
They were not willing to walk in his ways,
and they would not listen to his instruction.
“I will destine you for the sword,
and all of you will kneel down to be slaughtered,
because I called and you did not answer,
I spoke and you did not hear;
you did what was evil in my sight
and chose what I did not delight in.”
