وَكَانَ لَمَّا رَأَى مَلِكُ عَايٍ ذلِكَ أَنَّهُمْ أَسْرَعُوا وَبَكَّرُوا، وَخَرَجَ رِجَالُ الْمَدِينَةِ لِلِقَاءِ إِسْرَائِيلَ لِلْحَرْبِ، هُوَ وَجَمِيعُ شَعْبِهِ فِي الْمِيعَادِ إِلَى قُدَّامِ السَّهْلِ، وَهُوَ لاَ يَعْلَمُ أَنَّ عَلَيْهِ كَمِينًا وَرَاءَ الْمَدِينَةِ.
